Skiing while sick?

Anyone ever do it? Did it this weekend. Luckily it was relatively warm. I still felt awful afterward.

Not the best thing but i skied with strep and I've skied with really bad coughs like coughing up green flem just gotta ski who cares

I try to ride everyday, there's been countless days of laying across lift chairs head spinning just being fatigued and sick from not sleeping enough working graveyards. I almost puked riding up upper bowl at Skibowl that chair swings and bounces so much. My stomach and head already hurt so that was like ohhhh shit. But usually halfway through the day ill feel better for awhile till I get home and relax

I had pneumonia a few weeks back and went skiing. My doc is a skier and I asked if I should go skiing and he said it's not recommended but he would. I wore my backpack and had a water bladder. Just stayed hydrated and didn't do anything crazy. I think I slept for a solid day after that.

Was at a ski summer camp with both ears being infected, a sinus infection, and a respiratory infection.....the end of the week was hell but I still toughed it out had fun and learned some new tricks....when I got home I thought I was gonna die after the plane ride......my ears were closed up for a month after!

Yea lots of sick skiing has been done at Hood. Like people above said though fresh air is the best cure when im skiing i usually clear up by mid day and can have some fun. then i get home and its back to feeling dead

I felt like I was getting sick this past Friday. Then I skied hard all weekend and drank copious amounts of alcohol and now I feel great!

Go figure.

Back when I was in high school and living in Saskatchewan (aka 900km from the closest actual mountain), went on a ski trip for a weekend. Ended up getting a migraine and slept in a bit, but still went out feeling like someone was trying to kick their way out of my skull. Puked a few times on the side of the hill, but went out anyway.

Has anyone not skied while sick? Oh no, I'm sick, better stay at home with my mom and eat chicken noodle soup in bed. Don't go outside because it might make things worse. Fuck that noise, go shred. If not you're a bitch.

I'm not saying climb out of your hospital bed and go send a pow line in your robe have conscious with an iv still hanging out of your arm but if you've never skied sick, you're either really fucking healthy, or I don't understand you at all.

I've never skied while sick but I have gotten sick while skiing a few times. My friends and I made a drinking game for watching gapers in the park,it was a really heavy day for gapers so i puked my guts out in the woods. Second time I got a severe concussion falling off a dfd, got up couldn't see straight, couldn't walk in a straight line, fell over a box and puked while laying in the snow. Both of these times could have been avoided
I feel like I might be one of the STUPIDEST people on NSers just because of the dumb ways I hurt myself

I had the flu and didn't go skiing for 3 days. On the last day of our trip it was a decent pow day so I was like well fuck it I wanna ski. Conditions were cold and windy with very little visibility. Went on the gondola and closer to the top I started gagging. I had to hold in my throwup cause there were 20 or more people all packed in. By the time we got to the top I ran outside and let loose. After that though I felt a little better and I got to ski the rest of day. i didnt take the gondola again

I got bronchitis super bad in November and decided to go skiing one day when I was feeling a little better. Did a couple laps with Bobby Brown and then one of my lungs almost flew out my mouth. Had to sit at the lodge for a good hour until my breathing became normal again.

I've also gone skiing with food poisoning. Did 1 lap with that and ended up sleeping next to a toilet the rest of the afternoon.

Always. Unless I am puking at a constant interval, I will keep riding. Did a few contests with a cough so bad I couldnt focus. I was filming once and I spent the entire day hiking up the hill trying to get the shot.
