Replying to How to "get into" ski racing

So I've always wanted to try ski racing, I did some camps when I was younger, but I was more focused on park. now more and more I just want to get into every aspect of skiing possible, and I think it'd be fun as hell to rip down a course as hard as I possibly could.
I'm 25 I think I have a good foundation having done racing camps when I was younger, I've kept and applied a lot of those techniques to the east of my skiing.

I'd like to get into something where I have the opportunity to compete and compare myself with some actual high level talent. Just see where I stack up, and have the ability to move up to more competitive classes.

I can buy a set of race skis/equipment, but I am 100% clueless when it comes to everything else ski racing. I have no idea where to start. Any thoughts?
