Fred_BearWere both the rip outs from the same shop? A binding rip out usually means the shop did a shitty mount job. They should be reimbursing you or giving you new sticks
FagelI think it was just the skis, because they were made with shitty materials and caused the bindings to rip out
Fred_BearIf that was the case youd hear about this happening a lot more. Bring em back to the shop and just be polite and respectful. You shouldnt spend hundreds of more dollars because of their mistake
AK_4frnt Hoji 195cm is the ski for you!
ozzywrongBatalla skis are for you..
ttelrabLol batallas look sick but I don't know if I'd reccomend a ski prone to pullouts to someone that just had 2 of them in the same season
seanahue.i realize that this doesn't help you much for today, but next season just spend more money and buy better skis off the bat. i know i know, skiing is expensive and that sucks. its just a fact that better materials and craftsmanship create a higher operating cost, so unfortunately durability does not come cheap. i used to do the same thing as you (blow through 4 or 5 pairs of the cheapest skis i could find in a season) but when i actually invested more in a better ski, the extra 2-300 bucks up-front ended up saving me money down the line. a 600 dollar ski sounds like a lot, but when it comes to construction and materials, its a totally different ballgame.
as for right now... i used to buy new line anthems like 3,4, and 5 years after they stopped making them, so don't be afraid to search for some super old models from bigger manufacturers that might still be kicking around in the depths of some random website. check ebay and b/s/t on tgr and ns. level 9 sports bought pretty much all of the old 9thward stock if i remember right, and i think i saw some atomics for around 250ish. they'll be an inexpensive fix for the meantime, just don't expect quality results from a cheap product.
whatever you buy, you should also consider bringing them to a different shop to be mounted, and try to actually be present while they drill your babies. its super easy for a tech to miss something small (especially wood glue) that could potentially give you big problems down the line. they're human and they mount a fuckton of skis. unfortunately, shit happens sometimes.
skiing on a tight budget isn't easy. good luck ma dude
FagelWow, thank you so much! This will help a lot. I'll take your advice and save up for a nice pair of skis. Now I just need to know what is the lightest and most durable pair I can find. And got any tough bindings for me? I was thinking Marker Griffons?
E_Z_STEEZk2 recoils have been indestructible in the past maybe try a k2 shreditor 92 or 102 (these are cheap right now) jskis are the most durable i think
