Urban in Denver?

As a team freeskier, I'm really pumped because we just got a snow day. Other kids in Denver might be looking for a thread like this... Anybody know any good rails or stairs near Cherry Creek or Congress Park? I have a steel pipe in my garage but I want more than that.

Or just any good ideas for a day like this with some freestyle skis waiting in the garage?

recently moved to denver, and i am desperately trying get out and hit some urban. i have been eyeing this DFD rail at the ritchie center at DU, and there is this one other one near harvard gultch park (Iliff and downing) that could be fun. let me know if you are trying to make moves later in the day.

DU is not a good call. You will get shut down promptly, Campus safety WILL call the cops if you are not a student there.

im in denver to. there are many sick places to hit urban. what I usually do is drive around or set something up in my yard. just get creative

how does one going about finding people to hit urban with, i recently moved to denver and dont really know anyone in denver who wants to hit urban with me. which is a bummer cuz there is soooo much snow

I would recommend to start going to ruby hill, lot's of guys go there to work on riding and mess around, could probably start meeting some guys there if you are new to the area. There is a lot around Denver to check out, features all depend on if you are running solo, have a small crew for a bungee, or a winch for bigger features. Definitely go to Rooney Ranch elementary over by Green mountain. School is closed and people are always hitting that rail. The rail at south high might also be a good start, and the tech center has lots of options, but probably need a bigger crew.

A true street skier will spend hours on hours looking for their own spots instead of asking everyone else where all the played out and easy spots are.

I would recommend avoiding littleton. Most of the good rails have metal blocks welded to the top.

i found a super dope rail behind the king soopers at colfax and kipling. it's 40' flat we were hitting it last night. need a bungie it's right next to a busy road tho

sunken gardens have a couple good handrails. i definitely want to put together a larger urban crew here

update-- found some sick features over at this park called sunken gardens. bit sketchy neighborhood and everybody looked at me like i was crazy but great time.

I mean, it's kind of true, but that sounded so pretentious. "A true street skier..." You don't need to be a condescending jerk to a kid who's curious about some urban.

Typically it's a mix of driving around looking for spots, getting advice from people who know spots, or seeing a pic/vid of a rail and finding it.

OP, I don't really know any spots in central Denver. Most people who know spots, myself included, won't tend to share them publicly, just among friends.

There's a fairly well known curved like 6 kink in wheat ridge, and I know some spots around Wheat Ridge Stept has hit hat I'm scared to walk down. So there's a ton around here but I don't know much in denver.

More of a tough love thing. I don't know a thing about Denver urban except for almost every spot has been hit. Just trying to put the pressure on people to actually find new spots.
