Revelstoke Terrain Park

im heading out there in a few weeks and was wondering if there were any edits from the new park this year so i could see what its like, i've seen a few pics but no edits. looks like an awesome setup from the pictures tho

/\ meh, there are such things as down days. if you can't ski pow or go biking, skiing park is a good way to take up the not so good days. granted revelstoke is quite consistent with snow quality, but do whatever you will have the most fun with op. just make sure you ski the mountain plenty as well. if skiing park is all you care about though, there are better places to go than revy.

I'm not planning on skiing park very much since its Revelstoke, im renting pow skis for a few days during the trip, but i wanna know what the park is like just in case the weather isnt great

Revy has a Gaper park. Ride, Red mountain, Silver Star or Big White have far better parks. Forget about parks at Revy and find a local to show you around.

the guys that have started the park at revy are killing it. It is in the grassroots stage and has only been in existence for 2 months.. in time it will grow into something bigger. People should be thankful there is something there to have fun on when the snow doesnt deliver... calling it "garbage" is just rude.

parks legit. and its such a huge run to get to it that your not just hot lapping a park your skiing hit laps, pow, cliffs, steep groomers. its sick that its in the middle of a long run.

theyve got 3 jumps in a row, small by any park standard but they work. bunch of rails an a-frame, rainbow, 2 down rails, a flat bar, a dub kink. just put in a solid hip/pole jam thing thats pretty fun.

to all the haters if your a kid from the east coast, riding a park out west is fucking awesome they are so much longer and softer so fuck off. skiing pow should be priority numero uno but when you get out here and get skunked on weather which happens, then a soft new park is dope.

Its a bit of a stretch to say Red has a good park lol, or even better than Revy's. Revy's park is small but everything is well maintained, could be positioned a little better on the hill (kinda in a flat area) but it's nice because you can do a lap through on your way back to the chair.

Thinking of taking a season there next year. A growing terrainpark would have been awesome! Hows the terrain in Revy? Is it much natural booters and funny stuff to play around on? Also looking for cool edits from the resort ;)

Its as likely as having first tracks down Whistler on a 60cm day. If you are road tripping, your stars really have to align to get the super deep snow and opened avy terrain. Most of the time line ups will cut your laps short on good days.

But when the 3-4 day snowstorms blow through, the terrain is mind blowing. Around 2pm, the place clears up and the terrain regenerates really quickly. My last trip was timed perfectly; 3 days of really deep snow, locals to show me the access points and a powder drought lasting weeks. Huge cliffs and pillows are littered throughout the inbound terrain with a north side sidecountry that offers a menu of 20 feet plus hucks.

I was just there for a week of skiing. Had people who know the terrain to show me around. There are a million cliffs to hit, but natural booters are very lacking. Like no possibilities for cat track gaps without building up jumps, very very disappointing side hits, not really too much in the way of that stuff.

Terrain is pretty excellent. But very short fall lines, so you get your 30 seconds in before it's flat again. It's all drainage based terrain, so people naturally get funneled into specific routes that can be difficult to get out of without effort. It's either steep or flat, not much in between.

Amazing hill, it really is. And you can't do any better for snow. But to be honest, the in-bounds terrain is a little over-rated. I mean it's a 9/10 when people rate it 10/10.

well, sort of work. When I was there I didn't see 1 person who was able to make the sweet spot on on all 3 jumps in a row. To be able to have enough speed for the 3rd jump you're going to overshoot the 2nd. So if you hit the second to the sweet spot you're going to come up short on the 3rd.

But for a 1st year it's decent.

ye rode them yesterday for the first time in 3 weeks. they changed them up and im not sure for the better. your right second one is too short and the third one is too long now. tricky run for speed though so they are doing what they can.

Lol What? I have shit bases and can still hit all 3 in a row. Or first kicker, flat rail or box and then the last kicker. You re either doing something definitely wrong or you haven t waxed your skis for decades or it was on a pow day, when they re not grooming the park :/ I guess last option

I am coming from a tiny hill in the northern Alps that has only a park and for me this park is way better and the mountain is mind blowing if you know where to go.

Southbowl, Montana Bowl, Kokanee Bowl, Gracias Ridge, Greely Bowl thats where you find awesome lines even after a week of no snowfall. Avy knowledge required.

Imo I love the terrain and the park is pretty sweet too. You can hit some cliffs, go into the glades, cruise through the park and afterwards some mellow glades to the Stoke. How can this be even better?

Personally didn't hit the jump line. Just from what I saw on the lift. I mean I probably saw at least 20-30 attempts at it by many different people and it was always the same result. Either land the second jump and knuckle the third, or take the second to flat and land the third. Maybe no one had wax?

And yea, terrain is amazing. But what would make it better are side hits. Big side hits.

Well you can hit the first one like every other kicker, second one, a little bit slower than you may think, (You ll still land behind the blue line) than just sit down on your hell and go straight for the last kicker. A long carved turn helps :)

Oh and dont forget to pop a little bit more on the last jump. Didnt lap the park today due to a sweet dump overnight, but normally it works always for me.

Yeah I saw especially lots of boarders knuckling the last jump. Or some skiers that are definitely not popping at all.

are people seriously complaining about a hill because of the quality of jibs on the sides of the groomers? Hit the park, hit some cliffs or just launch some rollers.
