Mixing toe and heel pieces

Can you take the toe piece from one pair of bindings and use them with the heel of another? Would it be safe and has anybody done this? Not sure if this should go in gear talk or not

How are you not sure if this goes in gear talk? Are we talking about gear?

That said, as long as the ride height(above the ski(I know there's a proper name for it)) is the same you're good. No shop will do it for you though

the forward pressure will likely be inconsistent and the boot wont be parallel to the ski. its not safe or worth it.
2 colors of the same binding could be cool tho

I've got yellow heels and red toes s9 12s on some old park skis. It was out of necessity not a fashion choice

Depends, usually within brands it would work out, you can use a look/rossi px15/18 toes with 15/18 din fks heels since they are the same. Same with the corresponding lower din models. Salomon would be the same with the STH/STH2s. Id guess the royal family and the tyrollia models would follow a similar suit.

They ride the exact same height, and they pass an ASTM test w flying colors...why are they less safe?

different springs with different decay rates so one might be looser or tighter than the other which can mean no more acl
