Men's Superpipe Finals are about to go down in 20 minutes or so and it's always pretty nice to have a little chat while the events are going down for those who are watching!


Heres the rest of the ski schedule:
Women's Ski Slopestyle is tomorrow(Friday) at 2:30PM
Women's Ski Superpipe is Friday sometime between 7-11PM
Big Air is Saturday night between 9-11
Men's Ski Slopestyle is Sunday between 12-5PM

Tiril and Kelly's last hit on best runs were definitely a little open and loose. With that, you have to go with Kelly's rail section as it was better than Tiril. Jumps 1 and 2 were basically a draw.

Licking your buttonhole aside...I agree it was pretty good with the caveat that there was a clear line of demarcation down the middle.

Dara Howell looks like she wants to be somewhere else.
Keri is pretty much at the end
Devin Logan hints progression, but not sure it is there.
Maggie just looked cautious and you can't blame her. She's only been back on skis 6 weeks. She'll be back.

I couldn't agree more. Johanne surprised me a ton based off what I saw at Dew Tour. She cleaned up so much. And Kelly...well duh haha theres not much to say about her. She's incredible. Emma has such a good style with a good bag of tricks. And Tiril is just huge haha. This is about to get interesting. I'm so stoked to see them throw down like they did today.

Doesn't Kelly have both way 10s? I realize comps are all about what you can pull off consistently, but Kelly has to have more in the bag.

I'm honestly surprised there's been no hint of a double. Doing what she was doing at 6 you almost feel it is overdue.

She got hurt at some point. Don't think the injuries were too widely publicized, but honestly what more in the sport is there for her to do? She has seemed mentally out of it for about 5-6 contests now.

I really like how they only have 3 jumps this year instead of 4. Also it seems like the first jumps is gonna have to by a "style" jump because of the size, could be wrong, but mens slope is going to be awesome to watch. Maybe there is still hope for X Games after all.

Well then... Guess I didn't catch up enough.

Hard to pick between Roland and Kenworthy then. They were both good. I thought Gus' was more exciting but Rolland's was a bit cleaner looking, maybe. That one hit from Gus was giant.

youre crazy man. could argue more tech, but not even close to as clean... star fish landing on the 1st dub 12, 2 tindys, almost fell celebrating at the end.

Shoulda been Gus' win easy. Last runs always get scored better at X - makes for better drama.

Ladies need to hit the weights , the power is LACKING . Women's skiing in other departments like racing , they all lift and are strong. The first freeski girl that seriously hits the weights should finally break some barriers . It's pretty brutal to watch. Sorry .

You are actually everything that's wrong in skiing right now. Fuck you a thousand fucking times. I'm damn proud to be a skier. And I'm pretty damn proud of all those girls who threw down today. That was probably the most progressive xgames/contest in general to date and all of them should be fucking stoked. If anything you should be the one who's fucking embarrassed if you can't see anything positive out of that. Fuck you, cunt.

I am watching women's pipe right now. Not to hate, but the level is super low. When it was on the olympics I was thinking to myself that the girl's pipe just hasn't gotten to the point of being a precision, Olympic-quality sport.

Imagine if divers or gymnasts were making that many mistakes and looking like they had no control. It would be an embarrassment. Fortunately the snowboard girls aren't much better.

Also it's hard for anything else to be embarrassing after the halo competition.

Like I said above . They either need to seriously hit the weights or build them a smaller separate pipe .

Yeah it was freaking nuts! Last time I watched a women's comp the biggest trick I saw was a switch 5. The progression in women's skiing nowadays is sick.

Yes, girls pipe skiing is just awful. If anybody grabbed anything it would be less awful.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Women's Ski Slope totally trumps Women's SNB Slope (I know a few girls have doubles, but they are never trotted out (or landed)). Pipe, total opposite.

Tiril last two runs were insanely good, that sw 10 in the second run was the cleanest one ever done, and her last run sw 10 was to the bottom. I'm thinking she shoulda got gold.

Her last run was first place worthy, but it looked like she punched the ground on those sw 10s and that may have cost her gold.

Haven't read through the entire thread but I had a really good to laugh at the half pipe Skiing from Girl.

I just don't understand girls who are professional dont take the time to go to Woodward at Copper take a month to properly learn a double and become the best skier in the world.

Womens Slopestyle was radical! The new generation even impressed TANNER HALL!
Grabs where held, rail tricks was tecnical and they went big! Good thing Tiril can push Kelly - it will keep stuff interesting! Emma and Johanne can get there too!
American girls was pretty bad, sorry.. looks like Devin still suffers from the bad karma she gained dashing on Tanner.

Superpipe was a disaster, the only shit diffrent Maddie did was making her switch 720 no grab a switch 900 no grab, the rest of the tricks was the same as last year, just different order.
Annalisa threw a 10, but did not have a single grab or a switch trick in her entire run, that held for 3rd!

It was a replay of last year, basically, even second place was the same.

Super hyped for the Big Air today - some mental videogame stuff will go down!
Slopestyle will be back to back trips all over the place.. Anyone know if Anndri Ragettli will start or is he just back-up?

Yeah... Uh. I didn't watch pipe so I can't really say much. But slopestyle got me so stoked. It was so good. There may not have been any dubs but everyone on the podium was throwing in. 9/10s and they seriously stepped up their rail games. It was great(:

You know what man... your right...Pro Girls are not as good as Pro Guys are at skiing. Yeah that is the truth, bet it was pretty hard for you to figure that one out eh bud? real good job for letting everyone know too! The thing your fail to see though, is that they are still Pros and are both shredding hard in their respected divisions! So quit being a prick and show some god dam respect.

Girls have every right to have their own competition and they shouldn't be compared to dudes because they are not competing against them. People should give immense respect for any girl that shreds. Their bodies are built differently then males, yet they still have balls. They are a minority in the ski industry, yet they still find a place to make noise. And they have to deal with demotivating assholes like you, yet they still continue to kick ass at skiing.
