Men's Superpipe Finals are about to go down in 20 minutes or so and it's always pretty nice to have a little chat while the events are going down for those who are watching!


Heres the rest of the ski schedule:
Women's Ski Slopestyle is tomorrow(Friday) at 2:30PM
Women's Ski Superpipe is Friday sometime between 7-11PM
Big Air is Saturday night between 9-11
Men's Ski Slopestyle is Sunday between 12-5PM

I think his landings were cleaner than Gus, idk why but I hate Kevin's style but that run was fucking nuts, I was certain Gus would win. Stoked Benoit is up there too

Gus's was cleaner for sure, I guess they weight average amplitude over everything. I thought Rolland had an insane run but style and fluidity should still be major factors and Rolland had some sloppy shit like the grab and his final landing/side hit.

plus a higher average amplitude. Sure Gus had the biggest hit but everything after that was smallish. Gus with the highest hit of 20'6" and an average of 15'9" whilst Rolland had the highest hit of 18'4" with an average of 17'1"

I think it did but also Kevin had an average air of 17'1 which also could have influenced it

ya maybe, i feel like arguing amplitude at that point is kinda a toss up you know? its so close.

rolland with the boot grab on the first hit and last hit, gus missing the tail grab on his right 10. just interesting.

Agree!! Kevin in beast mode! So intense. Glad he came through in the end with a banger run!! His coach though! Too awesome

That shit with the announcers/entire production crew poking and prodding at Gus about "this must be such a huge weight off your back, tell us about it!" to give them they wanted was some of the most uncomfortable and unprofessional shit ever.

What is complete bullshit is that there are no qualifiers! only inviting 12 athletes is so dumb. But I guess ESPN is getting worried that the big money riders wouldnt make it into finals with the competition being so high now and that hurting their ratings. Seems to me that Xgames is now all about the amount of viewers they can get and not really showing the sports and riders in them. I have noticed in both summer and winter Xgames that they seem to be declining in popularity.

I still think Gus should've won. It came down to having way more style imo. I re-watched the runs a few times. Interesting that they had basically the same tricks on the right wall. Left wall was right dub 12 and right cork 9 for Rowland and Gus did right cork 10 and left alley-oop dub flat 10. Technicality is arguable between the two I guess.

Also, the average amplitude argument for Rowland is bullshit. The height-o-meter or whatever it's called fucked up and gave Gus a 9ft 9in reading on his biggest hit. Then it gave him two readings on his last hit, and averaged the heights for 6 hits when he really only had 5. Hopefully that didn't factor into the scores at all...

Absolutely. I mean, who really cares about this competition these days? It's not at the same caliber it was at 5 or 6 years ago.There's so much good content these days, between unique comps and videos, that it feels kind of irrelevant...

Hopefully NS can freshen Dew Tour up for next season

Go watch Gus's run again, the amplitude meter messed up on his ally oop dub and only counted it as 9 feet. It was clearly over 15, easy. Probably closer to 20. It was huge. I'm not sure his average height was less than Roland's. Just watched them back to back.

Gus had the best pipe run I have ever seen. Hell yeah man!

Yeah, absolutely Kevin's run was super technical. But Gus's was bigger and with a super assertive style that was way better composed. I have watched Gus's run 5 times because it was so sick, I have no desire to watch Kevin's run again. Just my opinion.

So angry they cut TV coverage. I mean I get it from their perspective im sure they make more money off college baskebtall which was on....but cmon nothing at all this year on tv? I don't really want to stare at my computer since I stare at 6 screens all day when I Get home. Dissapointed. I guess i'll just watch videos/recaps when its all over unless they air anything
