Im planning on copping a pair of kartel 98s to be used almost solely in the park aside from an occasional groomer run here and there. I have read that the suggested is -4 / -4.5 cm from true center. That just seems to far back for the park. I am currently on true center mounted filthy riches, which I believe is the same camber and rocker profile...would mounting true center on the Kartels be a bad idea? There's no way I am going -4, but -1 or -2 maybe, I am just worried about an awkward swing weight. Help is much appreciated
Recommended is -3.75 from true center. I'm not sure if I would go center, but -2 or -1 isn't a bad idea. Karl rides at -1. I ride my 106s at like -2ish I think. It's honestly not that far back at all.
The binding platform of the ski and the core thickness are optimized for the mount mark. However, the ski was designed with true center in mind. I believe many on the team do have their personal pairs mounted forward of the rec. line, so hell yeah, go ahead and put them where you want. -2 based on what you wrote sounds prime.
