*DOGKarl mounts his kartels at -2.5 from centre I believe. However im sure he probably has a centre mounted pair for skiing park. Dont count me on that last part forsure.
I'm thinking at about adding some extra carbon fiber stringers into the Magnus so it's more stable a higher speeds. Would this be a good idea and is it worth the extra 50$?
TopsenI followed the recommendations on here and mounted recommened, although I was sceptical. Couldnt be happier, they ride awesome. If I was riding 100% park i would maybe consider moving up a bit.

I'd get the Kartel instead.
The Magnus are actually pretty stable, but they're meant to be a playful park ski, so why stiffen them up?
.lenconThose are 2 very different skis. One is playful and has rocker, one is stiff as hell and full cambered.
Why not get a Kartel 98? Essentially a more stable Magnus..
And you could get a stiffer Magnus, I am just curious as to why you would do that
This. There would no reason so get a very rockered ski to make it a 2x4. The Kartel sounds like what you are looking for, really just a slightly wider and stiffer platform.

98 is just too wide for where I ski. I ski in Wisconsin so like 2in of fresh snow is like pow for me

IM in MN and skia 95 underfoot, my friend skis a 105 daily in the park. Its all preference. Its not worth adding stiffness to the Magnus, if you ski in Wisconsin keep the flex for playfulness, stiff skis for for stability and bigger features. No reason to do that for Wisconsin skiing.
snowpeckSo what about the Presters. Would they be like a stiffer Magnus?
Stiffer and cambered with no rocker. I actually enjoy the presters a bunch - but I'm kind of in the minority on that. The Magnus is baller, but most of the team rides the Kartel 98 in the park now.
So I just got my kartel 98s back from my shop and they're sick, just one problem...or at least I think. I only wanted to go -1cm back from core center, however it seems they are much further back. They are mounted almost directly over the line on the side wall. Is that line the recommended -4cm line or try center?

Line = Boot Center. It varies by ski length but it is -4cm on a 181cm ski.
Im going to order some Kartel 108s and need them shipped to Canada. Does anyone now what border fees I'll get charged? Is it just taxes (GST, PST, HST)?

Not much I think my c&d's were about $50 so yours might be close to $40
ON3P x Evo topsheet. Jeffrey 114. Mounted with some Attack 16s. They're such a sexy ski and I am very excited for a base to build up and then a pow day to roll in.
One of my favorite top sheets ever- if not my favorite- on one of my favorite skis ever- if not my favorite. Couldn't be more stoked.

Should have never sold mine. Regret it everyday. So so so sexy
.lenconThey are amazing. Congrats on selling yours though. I was going to pick up that pair from you but Evo had a sick sale I didn't think you would match.
Haha thanks! If they were 181 or 186, I would have definitely kept them!
Can anyone share their experiences on the Kartel 108s? Im getting a pair and I also was hoping for some mounting advice. I ski all around the mountain searching for pow and natural feature to practice tricks off of like 3s, backflips, and rodeos with grabs. I will rarely take this is the park so that isn't going to affect where I mount. I was thinking -3 front enter because the recommended for the 181 length (-4.5) seems too far back to be a playful jibber ski that can spin easily. Sorry for the long post but can anyone shar their experiences and where to mount? Thanks

You picked the perfect ski.
And yeah my Kartels are recommended to be -3.75 for their size but I'm at -2.5 or so. It wouldn't be a bad idea to scoot up a bit on the ski. -2.75/-3 would be a good spot. Don't go forward any further though.
bakerymasterjust rode my K98s for the first time here in whistler, they're a total blast. Super pleased with how they ride.
I'm highly considering getting a pair of the K98s. what your skiing style (park/all mountain)? do they hold up at high speeds if your bombing a groomer?

Yeah definitely! I have mine mounted at recommended and they rip. Also ride switch really nice. Didnt do much spinning over 3s because Im old, but didnt notice high swing weight.

So far I've been using them mostly all mountain and haven't ridden in the park yet (it just got built) i have mine just in front of recommended right around -3 they're great on everything. a bit squarely on ice. But great on groomers and crud. I ride the 186 and they even work well in powder

the new k98's ski much better on groomers because of the reduced tail rocker over the prior model year. You'll be fine on groomers.

Curious about a similar thing. Shredded my ACL last season so I just copped Kartel 108's so I'm not tempted to huck myself in the park. Have center mounted my last 4 pairs of (directional) line chronics. I really want to eventually huck big tricks with these things after my knee is fully rehabbed, where should I mount these suckers? I also plan on skiing switch a fair amount. What's the limit of pushing mount forward before I'm unhappily fighting sidecut?
