Couchsurfing and location suggestions

Hey guys, I graduate college in the spring, and i'm looking to do some traveling this coming fall once the wedding filming season ends. Does anyone have experience with Couchsurfing.com? Also, I'm taking suggestions for places to go, I'm thinking somewhere warm for a change of scenery from skiing. Kauai is number 1 on my list at the moment.
