Lucid dreaming

I've heard of this before, seems fun af but I'm scared af to try it. videos make it seem so chill but i don't wanna enter a fucking horror movie and shit my pants in bed

i guess my question here is has anyone done this

It's eerie, awesome, and terrifying all depending on the dream.

A few nights ago, I dreamed I spotted a guy with a sniper laser pointing it at a guy in a window in a neighboring building, so I somehow magically forced myself to teleport to the sniper's location, and it turned out it was his eye itself that was the laser, so i ripped the laser out of his eye and a long electrical cord came out of his head, so i pulled it out, tossed him off the top of the building, and then I woke up like, "WTF, I just killed a cyborg sniper assassin". Not a bad way to start your day. OR, a terrible way to start your day. Depends on how you look at it. Either way, I was in semi-control of the dream the whole time.

I lucid dreamed on accident somehow when I was like 14.
I flew around my city and had sex with a chick from my school outside kfc.......

Recently i've been practicing lucid dreaming... There is no reason to be afraid of it, the whole point is that you can take control so if you don't like your dream you can change the environment. i've only had one i can remember that lasted about 30 seconds, i just freaked out because i was awake in my dream.

i think you need to sleep without following your brains tests that you are asleep, like the urge to roll over, or itch. and also i heard you need to let images flow through your mind and when you can't stop the images you know you are lucid or something, its weird

Ive lucid dreamt before. My experience was sweet. I was with this chick and we were at a baseball game. I got hit by a foul ball in the face, blacked out and woke up in the backcountry skiing with her. Thats all i can remember. I know there are ways to help create a lucid dream. Ive been trying for the last week.

i lucid dream fairly often. I never have done it on purpose even though ive tried. For me its more of a holy shit weird stuff is happening let me react to it, instead of im dreaming let me do cool shit.

A while back I tried and tried but with no success. You're lucky if you can actually do it. Many religious people believe that it can welcome spirits into your life etc and all this mumbo jumbo but really, it's kind of just like sleeping on pot or something. It's just a dream, that you can *somewhat* control. Really no harm to be done

most of the time I know i'm dreaming and can do most anything, but I can't control the changing environment all aaround me... it's weird and fun, but annoying. idk why shit changes

you need to write down everything that you can remember from your dream everyday when you wake up… after a while you will have full control of your dreams

I feel like you've probably never smoked on pot, that shit typically knocks you out and makes you incoherent rather than aware.

Back in the day the NS thinkers cult had a good thread on this. I can go back into dreams I wake up from but I haven't been able to figure out how to control them yet. I also have those moments I know I'm dreaming and can wake up but I can't do whatever I want in the dream.

They are a lot of fun. A few years ago i trained myself to be able to go into them almost every night. I never got to the point where I could control my environment and control what was going on in the dream, but I always had full awareness of the fact that I was dreaming, and I could control my own movements and thoughts just like I could in real life. For me lucid dreaming became a way to explore these cool dream environments. I got the chance to explore a Japanese castle in a forest, a weird California mall place, where I could drive around and drift with a car, a weird concrete ruin place, all sorts of these places. Ive tried to go out and do crazy stuff that i wouldn't get the chance to do irl, but for some reason i always get all excited an wake up. This one lucid dream that I had was quiet the experience, the dream started non lucid, I was in the basement i my grandmas house with my friends and we were robing it for some reason. We escape out the window and ended up in some sort of residential area that was sort of a mix of Duluth Minnesota and Bend Oregon. When we got outside we could hear cop cars coming, so we somehow transformed into gazelle, and when the cops came we walked right passed them unnoticed. A little ways after walking down the street as a gazelle i suddenly realized I was dreaming. I then explored the city in a lucid dream state where I had this ability to transform and run around as a gazelle. Long story short I pretty much got to live as a gazelle for the night. Anyways lucid dreaming is a surreal experience i would definitely recommend training yourself into being able to do it.

the biggest problem won't be what you experience but actually getting the chance to experience it.

when you smoke weed your brain releases melatonin (why you burn out) and puts you into a sleep too deep to remember any of your dreams. for me anyways.

Lucid dreaming is tight, used to practice it a lot. Biggest part is keeping a dream journal. Sounds fruity yeah, but it will accelerate your lucid dreaming faster than anything else. Also, cut down on weed. Weed cuts down on your REM sleep, and makes lucid dreaming incredibly hard. Even stopping for a few consecutive days will increase your dream memory and you will start having vivid dreams that you remember much more consistently.

I never reached a point where I could do it every single time I tried, but I got close. A lot of it depends on your schedule and sleep cycle, stress levels, substance intake etc. I remember the first time I ever REALLY got it down, I realized I was dreaming and put myself out on the end of the Santa Monica Pier, and was just kinda remember the thought of 'lets see if this shit is real' and I conjured a fucking beautiful red Ferrari in front of me and was like 'damn this is gonna be fun as fuck' so if you can reach that point you'll have a great time.

I do it all the time, using two different strategies. One is that I will draw something on my hand and then remember it while I am dreaming. The second one might not work for everyone but works like a charm for me. I fall asleep with socks on, which isn't super comfortable but not really that bad. What it does is that it helps me notice the "presence" of my feet (if you will) so when I feel my socks on my feet in my dream it reminds me that I'm dreaming and I can thus control the rest of the dream.

Had a long ass lucid dream last night... It was fucking weird being totally conscious in the dream. Recently stopped smoking herb, spent about a week practicing techniques and logging my dreams... guess i got lucky
