Ski boots loose or tight

So I personally like my ski boots loose. When they are tight and you land akwardly or backseat I feel like they hold your legs in place and it hurts. So what is your preference loose or tight?

Not to thread jack but I was at Keystone last weekend and my toes started killing me.
The boots are new and the proper size but my toes got really bruised.
Would getting them fitted fix this or is it just the flat landings at Key?
Ive ridden them tons and I've never had this problem.

I prefer to not even wear boots because they're just too uncomfortable. I just place my toe in where my bindings are and hope they stay on

you probably like low dins and incorrect forward pressure too. if you seriously have your boots that loose you really dont know how to ski. the minute youd try to carve on edge (yes, those things are actually used for something other than rounding them off on rails) and your foot moves in the boot and not the ski youd lose it and crash.

PeppermillRenoMiddle 2 buckles loose. Top and toe one tight.


Bottom two buckles close the boot up making it water tight. If they are over tightened it warps the plastic on the instep/ankle area making it uncomfortable. Only needs to be a finger pressure to close them

i can make it absolutely no longer than one run without unbuckling. and thats with very well fit boots with a ton of custom work done.


a ski boot should feel like an extension of your foot rather than something you are wearing.

Only happens when your shell is too short , you should never slam your toes against the front of the boot, they can stretch the shell at a good boot fitters , but if you never had this problem before have your feet grown ? Or did you wear a thicker sock?

I like to crank those fuckers down. I use 120 flex Il Moro's with the extra stiffeners on the high setting and that's perfect for winter... In the summer, even that feels a little soft.

As long as my liner is completely flush around my leg I rarely ever get shinbang. If my leg can move forwards and backwards I get shinbang more/worse. I don't like my shell super tight though. Circulation is good. If the width on your boots is what it should be for your feet then you won't have to crank em down and make your feet numb/cold.

3 buckle dalbello boss boot, top buckle tight as fuck, second buckle tight as fuck, toe buckle barely done up. as long as its tight around your shin and have ZERO heel lift then i dont have complaints
