I had a pretty bad fall the other day when I caught an edge doing a nose butter 3. I fell so hard that it felt like I blacked out for a second. My hip and back are killing me and it's been like 4 days. Do any of you guys use any padding or body armor when you ski park? If you do, what kind would you recommend?
whenever i catch an edge coming off a rail, i land on either one of my hips everytime. i know poc makes padded shorts but i just wear baseball ones and they work
I think a back protector especially those really slim ones you can't really feel has huge huge value for skiers. Especially on the west coast where you can hit huge cliffs and what not.
Everything else I feel like isn't really to important.
I'd pick up a POC VPD Spine Protector (I reccomend the vest just because its way more comfortable, but it is a good $100 more than the regular model) and a pair of the VPD Hip Shorts. Neither of these is uncomfortable at all-- I can wear both all day and forget I'm even wearing pads. The VPD technology allows these pads to be soft and malleable when they're against your body, but as soon as they receive impact the material goes rigid to protect your body. 10/10 I highly recommend.
