Replying to Best place to go in NZ?

The NZ regionals don't seem to get any traffic so I though i'd post in here.

Looking in the Queenstown/ Wanaka area, Which hill would be the best to do a season at? I'll probably be working at the hill too.

I've mostly skied Western Canada and the Alpes and have been told that the terrain and snow won't compare but i'll have a blast anyways! What would be best for a good mix of some fun, steep terrain and a good park?? Also with a chance of meeting a lot of cool people?
