Memory cards

What is a great memory card setup for a T3i? I've been looking at the SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro 280Mb/s card but I'm not sure if that card has the dual layer tabs. Could a T3i even handle that as far as taking all that it has to offer. I;m looking at that card because I really don't want to upgrade camera bodies yet so I'd like a very fast card so I can bump the bit rate up using magic lantern.

I know a decent amount about memory cards but I don't know much about increasing bit rate, dual layer cards, or if the t3i has a dual layer reader.

All help is appreciated, just trying to make the camera last another year, quality wise.

Why though? I know it's way overkill for a stock t3i but even with have ML and the bit rate turned up as high as I can go before it starts to chop, it's still overkill? Right now my memoery card is a 90mb/s card and I only have it to a bit rate of 1.1 and sometimes 1.2 (sometimes it chops and cuts the video because the card cant keep up)

Why do you want to use such a high bit rate? Just find your quality and file size balance.

because I need to shoot 60fps so that requires 720p and I like to upscale. I want to keep up quality wise with cameras without having to upgrade bodies.

(plus the memory card is on sale)

Just get the memory card if its on sale. It cant hurt.

Okay, I guess someone has to be the first. I looked on ML's forums and I havent seen anyone test it and benchmark it so that's why i was kind of wondering. I'll pick one up in a bit and I'll report back

SanDisk is a great company, you wont be disappointed.

Because there is a maximum speed that the t3i can write at. Not sure what it is, likely UHS-1. Some cameras, like the GH2, only hit max speed with older cards. The GH2 didn't have UHS-1, so using a faster UHS-1 rated card was slower than using a slightly older model of the exact same card. It was a while ago, so I forget the exact details, but use what is made for your camera, otherwise you will spend more for equal or lesser performance.
