Snake lady is back again guys, and this time.. I'm not so mad at her.
If you remember one of my posts from last weekend I was very angry with the infamous snake lady, cutting off everyone in the park just to hit the side of a jump. I blamed a lot of the problems on her for example, I told the world of newschoolers that she was the reason us park skiers have a bad name.

This week at my home mountain I was running the singles line when I was paired up with non other than sake mom... Yeah it was her, looking as gaper as ever. I was a little nervous right away, thinking that this was going to be a REALLY awkward lift ride. But it wasn't!
I tried starting off as respectful as possible. Introduced myself, asked how her day has been... The whole 9 yards. It didn't take me long to realize that she had no idea who I was.
Long story short we got into a conversation about how it was her second day on the mountain, and how her dad used to go with her all the time and he passed away recently. She told me that he had always wished to go skiing with her more.
I felt SO bad, how could I blame anything on her? She had no idea of the minor inconveniences she was causing a certain community on the mountain. I told her about what happened a few days ago when we got to the top of the mountain, and decided to meet her inside at the base for a drink.
We talked for hours, we had each other laughing, and it was great. I realized something, we're all on the mountain to have fun... Why get worked up if someone steps on your skis? Tell them that it bugs you, and move on! I guarantee you that within a month, no one would be purposely stepping on your skis.
That afternoon we exchanged numbers, she lives about 30 minutes away from me. On friday we went out to dinner... More of a date if I do say so myself. It was great, just like the bar on the mountain we talked for hours, she really is a great person. We have another date planned this thursday.
So before you freak out on someone next time inform them about what they did to piss you off. Skiing as a whole would be such a greater sport, and park skiers would have no bad stereotypes.
P.S. If you tell them whats up, and they do it again? Beat the shit outa them. You can't fix stupid.
