Hydroflasks

Ok so everyone must have seen the hydro flask trend going on lately I always thought who pays 50 bucks for a water bottle but ive decided they are sick and I want one for some reason. So I am trying to decide between the black or white 40 oz or the black or white 64. Does anyone have any stories about them is the 64 to big the 40 not big enough? the 40 is sick and perfect for filling it with a 40 or whatever but the growler shape is sick and im mostly going to use it for school and a few hikes and trips maybe some at trips but i feel like the 64 might be good but wouldn't it be really heavy? Help me ns Possible +k for actually helpful answers.

What do you plan to keep in it? If your hiking/skiing/just about anything cans are the best imo. If you cant deal with luke warm beer, time to man up. Hot items in the winter I could see it making a bit more sense tho.

My room mate just bought one. They are amazing at keeping hot hot and cold cold. They don't perspire and they keep the temperature of the fluids very well. Beware, they ARE heavy, so either model isn't ideal for hiking/camping because of the extra weight. Freezing a water bottle would be better for lasting cold water.

Well mostly water or some ginger beer idk a lot of tea and coffee id put beer in it if i wasn't 14 or the law was down for me to buy my shit.

The 64 is too big for regular use. Think of when the last time you needed 64 ounces of tea or whatever.

Get the 40. Much more economic shape.

If you're doing tea or coffee, then Id say the 32oz max. Who needs 64oz of coffee? Unless you're a 14yo girl with a starbucks infatuation. I can see its usefulness for hot items, but for cold water, just freeze a half full nalgene like the guy above said.

I have the 64oz one for lacrosse and sometimes i feel likes its almost too big bc its super heavy. You said you might just use it for school, I would go with either the 18oz one or the 24oz one. I have all three and prefer the 18oz for school and the 64oz one for lacrosse and the biggest hikes i take, its too heavy otherwise.

I got the 18oz in lychee red and I super regret not getting the 32. Def get the 40. 64 is way too big and probably heavy.

get the 40 for sure. the 64 is too big unless you backpack on like a weekly basis haha, i never use mine and i have a 32 that i use so much more!

The 64oz is ludicrously big for anything other than beer. It's impossible to drink with one hand. 40oz is perfect for a large traveling bottle.

Yeah. Generally speaking, Klean Kanteen is significantly less insulated than Hydroflask. I'm sure they have some insulated bottles that can compete with Hydroflask, but most do not.

These are just dewar flasks? The plastic nalgenes won't rust or dent and they make insulation for those.

i have a 32 ounce nalgene for everyday use and have never needed more liquids at one time than 32 ounces. anything bigger seems like overkill

Go to seshday.com and get the wave gear insulated bottle. Less expensive and works just as good
