Sent this jump at Granite Peak to the gucci plateau a couple years ago. Snow was faster than usual and I was still a pretty terrible skier, didn't judge my speed correctly at all.
Watched as the landing disappeared, "OH FUCK OH SHIT" caught my tips and hit the ground like a rock. All the way in the flats. Wasn't wearing a helmet, Concussion, tore a ligament in my thumb, massive hematomas on my chest and shoulder. I think it was in late March and I didn't ski the rest of the year. Not too bad injury wise, I was very lucky.
My idiot friend that fell and just layer there at the bottom of the jump not warning anyone. I went for the jump thinking he's fine I180 then I fell and hit my head on the edge of his board and blacked out for 2-3 secs.
Not my worst, but one time my friend broke his thumb on doing a 360. Went to go check on him cause he was sitting in pain on the knuckle of the next jump. Accidentally slipped out on the ice and skied into his thumb. Broke it even worse.
Skiing way too fast through tight trees, one time arm hit a tree , shattered radius with surgery next day , plate with 6 screws holding that arm together. Another time skiing way too fast through the trees , hit a hidden cut off stump with ski tip , sailed head first into a tree, helmet saved my life, and good a deep bone bruise on my thigh , couldn't walk on it for weeks . Sail!
overshot a sketchy jump at local hill going for misty 5... tried to recover by taking it all the way to 720, couldn't slow the off axis rotation and took the fall directly to my side. Pushed all the air out of my lungs and i pooped a little bit. i was still dazed and i checked, I shouldn't have checked.
I went to ski Katana (lookers left of Brown Shorts in the Revelstoke slackcountry) and ended up losing a ski to a rock as I went through the S chute. I was tomahawking, spinning, rolling, and generally crashing for about 35 seconds, which was absolutely terrifying because I couldn't ditch the other ski and I felt myself drifting towards some cliffs. Got off super lucky; lost a ski and a pole but nothing more than bruises for injuries.

Got a friend to check a jump for me. He said it was good for a 3. I skied down assuming the landing wasn't flat, committed and right as I went off realized this jump was not nearly big enough and had a bad landing. Landed sideways and mashed my head on the snow. Kinked neck and a headache for a week. I check my owns jumps now.
Skiing Inferno at Carinthia last year, go off the last jump which was somewhere between a 55-65 foot gap and I panicked on the takeoff and hit my left ski off and took the sweetspot on one foot and tumbled down to the flats and all I could think about was "my season is over" but my thumb was slightly swollen and soar from landing on and bending my pole. I got lucky.
Skiing pre-season this year while hitting a double up rail (stupidest fucking rail my hill has ever built) but I caught an edge on the second up and went face first splitting open my chin and bashing my forehead on the rail which gave me a bad concussion
not a story of mine but last year at loon in their medium park they had an up box with a gap to barrel at the end so you could like hit the up box and tap the barrel type feature, and my friend who is a snowboarder came in really hot and caught his edge on the way up and fell in between the gap of the box and the barrel and just wrapped around it like a fucking tortilla he got lucky and somehow only got a minor concussion it looked a lot worse than it was though injury wise. And for me i pulled my ski off mid air on a medium sized jump doing a mute grab, didnt get hurt but god is that scary.

Ho lee fuck man. I had to watch that a bunch of times in full screen to actually see what was going on. I thought you were going over those cliffs at the bottom for sure. I think I need to go to Las Vegas with you, you got so lucky!
It happend on january 2, we where 4, and we made up a "jump" under the chairlift. and behind that jump there was tons of powder... more like 1 meter. yeah i know its not enough. after 1 try, i decided to go hard or go home you know? so i was in the chairlift saying " guys, im going backflip " they were like " dude you not even 360 on a normal jump are you retarded?" and i was like check it out boys.
after going full speed, my friend was right beside the jump and just before i jump he scream "SKI PATROL!!!" i didnt hear that because i was too concentrate on my backflip.
so i went hard, and i almost done the flip. but my nose has enter in the snow and propulse me in frontflip.
then i landed on my neck and my upper back.
Now i have a fractured vertebra and i have to wear a
corset for 3 month
in some glades i was going quite fast and tried to pump a little dip and it was too steep... instantly double ejected totally unexpectedly and flipped forward landing with all my weight on my left shoulder. dislocated my shoulder and had to ride in the sled for 10+ minutes through bumpy glades
it's funny how i get hurt outside the park FAR more often. in the park I am always aware of 'inherent risk' and have a great ability to avoid injury by falling the right way when things don't go as planned. outside the park I am taken off guard because that fear of falling isn't really there.
now that i'm older i don't really do as risky stuff anymore... it's really not worth it. dislocating a shoulder was enough to realize that. i'm convinced it will never heal to be the same again

Lol this doesn't even sound bad anymore compared to all your guy's stories, but last week I was cruising (fast) down a groomer and was sliding sideways to go switch and managed to catch my outside edge going about 35 mph. Cartwheeled it out only after a direct hit to the head on the icy ground

I skied switch into this massive massive gap somewhere in utah. Can't find it anymore though. Didn't quite make it and broke both my ankles and my heels.
tbh, I was more bummed about destroying my ankle first run on a gorgeous powday with homies. decided to ride the storm out for #theboys high as a motherfucker to kill some of the pain. Almost puked from taking my boot off at the end of the day, easily the worst thing ive dealt with. woke up the next day with my foot/ankle twice the size as it should be.
skied on it 3 weeks later and still get awful ankle pain sometimes but lol #yolo

Mobbing Upper walking boss at loon, took a line to the right to avoid some slow moving people, ended up hitting double knuckles in the flat light going 45+, Got my skis underneath me so it wasn't a terrible crash, but I kneed myself in the chest.
Icy fun jump, landed very forward on 2 backflips, really hucked the next, hit my head on the lip, came down directly on my shoulder, bad break that needed surgery.
Also this happened half an hour before starting my ski patrol shift on a closed run. Luckily I was able to walk back to patrol shack so they didn't have to scrape me up but they were none too pleased.

last run at stowe back in high school. It was a beautiful spring day and I had been greasing this pretty decent sized jump. I decide it's time to hit it switch so I drop-in. I misjudged the speed, apparently, and sent it waaaaaaaaaay past the landing, falling 20-30 ft to dead flat. Ended up with a pretty badly bruised hip and ego.
Also, I tired to nose-butter 360 on a knuckle, caught my edge, separated my shoulder and got a concussion. I won't do that again.
hit my head on a down flat rail cracked my smith variance helmet wide open got a concussion, could have been a lot worse without a helmet. ski patrol is your friend any young grom reading this believe me they are not the cops of the hill they are there to save YOUR life
So i had learned Backflips early last season. I could stomp them on many kickers. Next up I wanted to learn rodeo5. The park didnt have jumps big enough to try one, so I built a jump close to the bottom of Jay. There was a pumphouse for snow making in the landing, and I was going to avoid it, but after landing, I didn't swerve in time. Broken Femur, exposed fracture, blood everywhere. Got red stains in my boots and on My Helmet. Feel free to laugh.

I was going down a slope I heard was the old ski race track and figured I could bomb it. Make a turn and see moguls. I jump about 5 of them. Lose a ski. then tomahawk about 80 feet down the slope. Lucky it was a powder day. I pat myself over to make sure nothing was broken.
i over flipped a backy and landed in the gucci plateau on my back.
when i got my breath back (i was winded as fuck obviously) i did a few more runs but then i sorta all seized up and i was so fuckin sore so me and mum skied down to the emergency centre where the told me i may have broken ribs and collapsed lungs. they said i should sleep in mums room that night just in case i stopped breathing.
I did a hand drag 3 & didn't land very well, while trying to hang on I hit a little pile of snow that caused my knee to hit my face. I couldn't talk very well for a few days lol
Blacked out one time tubing in my friends grandparents backyard. Every year they build a massive luge track out of ice, and I was stupid enough to go by my self. I went too fast into a turn, and hit the wall like a quarter pipe. I fell head first onto the ice and don't remember much of what happened.
I stacked in pow in Japan once, and was looking for my ski for a full 45 minutes, digging up a large chunk of the run. I think I had help, can't really remember. Luckily it wasn't in backcountry, just on an empty ski run near a lift.
It was a large fall, I tumbled around for a while before I came to rest. I had no idea at what point the ski came off.
I don't know how much longer I would've kept looking. I was starting to get wet and cold. I think I found it at the top of my fall.
This weekend I jumped off the lift at a low point. I didn't know that under the power there was a rock and I landed on it. so I fell sideways and nailed my hip on the rock. It killed and I almost got my pass clipped
