Just busted my '08 Bluehouse Maestros so its time for a new powder ski. I dream about the Bent Chettlers but I can't realistically afford them. I definitely want something like the BC's and it seems like the YLE's are it for under $400. I just can't find that many reviews or info on them so has anyone ridden them? Likes and dislikes about them? I'll be mounting them with Gaurdian 13's and use them at Big Ski/Bridger Bowl/whatever touring I can fit in during college. I'm 5'8" 125 so I'll be getting the 177's if I do get them.
I have the 187s and they are a ton of fun. YLE's and BC's were my top choices too. Never got a chance to ride the BC's but the YLE's do what I need for a deep snow ski. Super fun.
I love them, not enough words for me to describe how awesome they are. Big fan of the way it skis for a symmetrical pow ski. I got the 187s and even at that length they are super smeary and easy to finagle in the trees and stuff. Very poppy, too. They can tear down groomers, as well. Not really any chatter at high speeds and its a stable ski on crud. Honestly, you could ski this thing every day and not have an issue.
I love the way 4frnt builds and shapes their skis, too. It makes for an incredible ride.
