So basically these are my first pair of skis that i hit rails a lot on... Noticed how fucked my edge was. Is there anything I can do to fix this or naw? Are new skis thee answer? Here are some pics. Btw this is my second season on the chronics 2015
The exact same shit happened to my 15 blends this weekend after skiing them for 6 fucking days, not insanely hard or anything. Loved them, but I'm pretty much done with Line skis. Anyway, I'm looking for a replacement now.. anyone has some experience with K2 durability, percisely 15 Shredditors 92 (I can get a good deal on them). Also are they somewhat buttery?

Check out Rossignol slats they are so great. A little similar to the shredditers but narrower but light swing weight buttery and fun but im sure you know what you want

Thanks for the advice, but I don't think I'd be able to find a shop that sells them. I live in Czech Republic and it's a pain to get any sort of freestyle skis around here, except for the major brands like Armada, K2, Line,.. they sell shit ton of Rossi skis, no twins tho

Oh shit that blows you could always hit them with an email and say where do you sell these in chez but you do you.
Revisions warranty is solid, but I am not to impressed with the quality. Had one of my friends already lose 4-6" under foot of edges and we are only maybe a month into the season, but the tow rope life in MN does rip skis to pieces.
Good luck with fixing that ski, otherwise if it rips out you can always ride them until they bust in half.

i luckily got a new pair after bringing it to the shop under warranty.
i think it's because you didn't detune it. their kinda screwed if you don't fill the gap as the water will ruin the core.

but seriously, I was pretty mellow on them. I did hit a lot of rails and boxes. but nothing serious. pretty sure it's just something that needs to be fixed in manufacturing. maybe it's the epoxy?

Exactly, I wasn't being particulary harsh on them and I dont remember catching an edge or anything eighter, just your regular park days. I didn't detune my edges tho..

you can have problems like this because of a dry spot in the laminate but its more likely just to be because the laminate has been split apart by the edge bending from the impact.

that makes sense because the delam originated underfoot. Would u know any solution to prevent it?

Dry spots are a manufacturing defect but most people don't rattle their skis off rails and so never have problem with it and something else will fail in the lifetime of the ski before it becomes a problem (or they just buy new skis for new tech/trend). As far as preventative measures there's little you can do other than de-tune under foot so the edge has less of a biting point on rails/boxes/whatever so it doesn't get as caught up on them. Other than that it's a total gamble whether the guy building them left a dry-spot underfoot. Buying from companies that are know to have decent customer service, care about your purchase and take a noticeable pride in their build quality is another way, in the hope that care was taken to spread the epoxy better in the lay-up to minimise chances of dry-spots.
This is all you need to know. You can easily fix this, it will just take a while.
I would not cut the base for this type of damage. Use hammer/chisel to straighten edge. Open sidewall/base with a few finishing nails. Fill with marina epoxy. Clamp and let dry. Ptex side wall if desired. File edge as needed.
