Whistler homies help me out!!

I'm heading out to Whistler in a couple days and I reallyyyyyy want to learn backies. I've done them on an airbag just fine, but I gotta nut up and take it to snow. We have no jumps here on the East yet and the snow is shit, borderline dangerous to huck new stuff.

SO! Would anyone like to help me with backies when I'm there? Maybe just show me around and help find a solid side booter to huck one off? Or even help me build a jump? Be there for moral support? Call me a pussy till I huck it maybe? Call ski patrol if I die? Whatever you want, anything helps!

I can't offer much money as compensation, but I can buy you alcohol and/or give sexual favors. I could even make an instaedit of you with my super sick iPhone 6s+iMovie. pls and thx :D

yea i know a pretty good spot in booterville to build a jump. theres like 50cms of snow forcasted between now and the 13th, so it should be pretty good on thursday for jumping.

Epic events are sure to ensue. Booterville is totally the place to do it! Just don't fuck up too bad, because it is an out of bounds area. I'm so stoked to shred whistler and rage it up for college weekend. You do realize you'll be there during that, right? I'll be shredding friday and saturday! I'm going to check out booterville, but if I'm buying a whistler lift ticket I'm tryna shred some park.

Yeahhhh I've never gone out of bounds and honestly wouldn't know the first thing about anything out there. That's probably not a good idea on my part? Or maybe it wouldn't be bad? I honestly don't know.

It's not too much to worry about. Booterville is one of the easiest side or backcountry (whatever you wanna call it) areas to access on whistler. You can almost ski in and out, but it is "out of bounds", so if you break yourself back there you aren't guaranteed to be saved by patrol. This also means you can build kickers, drink, BBQ, and get buck without patrol giving you shit. I feel like you're totally fucking with me or you actually randomly chose the most busy, rowdy, obnoxious, and really drunk weekend of the year haha good times are coming either way.

You can backflip off almost anything once you get them, two things to keep in mind 1. You won't die and most likely won't get hurt so don't be a puss 2. It's better to overshoot than undershoot. So I wouldn't build a jump I mean maybe you could but you really don't need too, just find a jump your comfortable on and do it like you would on a trampoline. Your natural instinct will just be to huck it and as quick as possible so when you do this keep in mind to be patient so you don't hit your head on the lip. Try and lead with your head sort of once you huck one and realize it's easy and just like come in hot and sort of relax and just float it back I can't lay mine out a bunch I do more of a semi layed out split leg type backflip but either way you will get them you just have to try it. It's scary but just go for it, the reward is worth it.

Do I have to worry about like avalanches or anything out there? Legit have never skied backcountry but if it's not too bad then I'd be down!

Im not the one who planned the trip so I had no idea! BUT HELL YEAH! Oh my god I can't wait hahaha.

I mean not saying don't bring your gear under the extremely small chance it could happen.... but it probably won't happen. Honestly I'm sure there are many people who have been out there that didn't even realize it was out of bounds. Booterville is really flat, it's just like a bunch of lumps in the mountain almost that happen to be easy to access and perfect to build jumps off of. The biggest worry is just breaking yourself and not having ski patrol there to save you.

This description nails it. I would say just fuggin do it and send it big. I will probably be heading into that area for a lil bit on friday or saturday, and would be down to squad up!

Nah not really honestly. I'm sure most of these guys have it. If you feel the need you can rent it from Escape Route in the village or something but I wouldn't worry about it. Also I feel I'm from PA so I know the struggles, I've just been fortunate to ski a lot in whistler over the past few years so I know the mountain really well.

I really hate to say "don't bring avy gear into the backcountry" but its technically sidecountry, there are riskier avy spots in bounds haha.

I'll leave this here just to look responsible ;)

But today I hit a down flat down for the first time ever today so that was fun (:

I saw the vid.. Props for throwing it, you honestly got it maybe just tuck, but the slow in run due to pow definitely has something to do with it. Bigger jump and more speed you got it next time.
