ON3P Kartel graphics pissing people off

Ok, so I've been riding the Kartel 98's this year, perfect skis, couldn't ask for much better... But I've been getting a lot of flak from older skiers (Of course) because of the graphics.



One woman gasped and said "How dare you!?" as she pointed at my skis. Some bitch racer dad said "I really hate that"... I just looked at him, nodded and said yeah a couple times because I was listening to music. It didn't really set-in that he was saying something bad until I got off the lift.

I'm assuming that the praying skull thing is what was offending them... but nowadays there is no way to tell. The green color might be racist or something, I don't fucking know.

So are the graphics that bad, or is it just a matter of old people being grumpy because they are going to die soon?

I'm so sick of the judgement that is flung around in skiing. I swear to god, if somebody's goggles are a little crooked everybody loses their mind and rips on them for it. Its starting to really kill the vibe.

Anybody have similar experiences with strange stuff like this?

Just repeatedly punch the people who insult your skis, they'll get the message and back off. Works every time for me

Your a " stupid Park Skier", what do you even think? Anyone wearing clothing bigger than xl shouldnt be allowed to ski on the mountain anyways... Seriously , people , especially older skiers often give you shit on minor things simply because you're a park skier. If a race ski had those graphics no one would complain...

Actually, it's the "Santa Muerte"

for those of you who look at the wiki article and go "TL;DR", basically it's a imaginary "saint" that is a mix between Catholic visual vernacular and Mexican superstition. Some Mexicans who flirt with death, be they criminals etc. will pray for the intercession of Santa Muerte to God.

The word "Cartel" is often times associated with mexican gangs... Mexico + Criminal + Cartel (Or in this case, Kartel) is where I got the idea from.

In terms of pissing people off... well... they just don't know what it is. I assume that whoever the woman was was Catholic and didn't like the apparent depiction of Mary as a zombie or whatever she thought it was.

As it turns out, I'm a devout, rosary praying (prayer for the intercession of non-zombie Mary) Catholic. Personally, I like the idea of commercializing this "saint" in order to cheapen the idea of it, as it's contrary to Catholic teaching.

Plus it looks cool, and Karl liked it.

So that's the whole story. If someone asks or is offended, tell them that I said to chill out.

Ive talked to karl on the lift about it and thats what he said so if people get mad tell them to fuck off and read a book

If you don't mind, could you explain the graphics of the original Kartel 106? I have them and was wanting to know a bit more about them.

Simply look deeply into their eyes for a solid 10 seconds, then creepily say "Hail satan" all monotone and stuff. That should fix it.

OP - Don't get upset by other people's opinions concerning aesthetics and what they find offensive. People will always find things to be offended by, which is their right. But just as they have that right, you have just as much right to rep that graphic regardless if their sensibilities find it offensive or not.
