I got a concussion yesterday off a tiny drop I couldn't see because of flat light. Freak accident and had a helmet on ( bern watts carbon fiber). Without the helmet could've been much worse. Definitely wear a helmet and I plan to switch to a giro combyn. It has a soft shell and a softer liner. My liner is hard as a rock and although it helped me out its just an outdated design. The combyn is a minimal design and looks good with the right gogs.
picked up a new Giro Combyn. I was originally leaning towards POC receptor bug but when I put it on my head it just looked and felt weird. anyone else have hte same issues?
Have a Giro Surface s that probably saved my life last year when my face decided to make out with a tree. Will never ski without one again especially in the trees.

"Issue" being the fact you thought it looked weird? No, I have the helmet and haven't had that "issue". I do have (and prefer) the adjustable though because it sinches up like a fucking dream and fits my head perfectly.
Also, can someone explain to me the logic behind not wearing helmets? I feel like when I'm on the mountain, ~90% of people have a helmet, I've always worn helmets, and it seems outdated not to. Plus, there are literally no visible benifits to just wearing a beanie. Is it a style thing? Because if it is, I think helmets are actually more "in" now than hats. A lot of pros don't wear helmets when they're not in comps and it seems dumb to me.
I own two helmets, long story as to why. But my favorite helmet currently is the Smith Maze MIPS, unbelievably light and comfy. Another helmet I can vouch for is the POC receptor backcountry. It has a weird fit but the vents work wonders and it's extremely secure. The downside to the POC is it uses Early generation MIPS that doesn't work nearly as well as the ones in things such as the Maze.

I found to get them to fit and look right you have to get the smallest shell you can possibly fit and then change the pads around to make the inside bigger... Its not really worth the effort or price for poc though
Anon raider but i plan to get a smith maze. I wear a helmet because no matter if its uncomfortable or not in style, nothing really replaces never being able to ski again if in a bad accident

I always ski with one because i feel invincible, started with a bern watts hard hat, cracked it in a freak skiing accident involving a tree and my head, and later bought a poc bug back country.
i feel like I'm the only person that wears a shred... but i wear the shred slam cap. i have a really weirdly shaped head (flat on the top) that is generally small and the shred is the only one that doesn't squeeze my temples like a bitch. has saved me from many a concussion. 10/10 would recommend

POC receptor is god tier. You have to have goggles that fit nice though or else you look stupid.
I wear a Smith, forget which model. I always wear it. It could save me from a concussion, or getting my head bashed open on a rock. I cannot understand why people don't wear them, but I can't force them to if they don't want to. Actually, I think I can figure out why they don't, it is obviously a style thing. Picking style over safety is not a good idea, hopefully these guys won't learn the hard way.

Great Helmet. Ff it gets snow inside or you smash the shit out of it, It doesn't break.
I've put mine through a whalloping and its still intact. And steezy
