ski "Teams"

after reading the Level gloves article and everyone saying how sick of team it is and how that team is going to own all, i realized this, 'what the hell does a team do?'

serious, they all dont ski together cause they have the same gloves sponsor so whats the point of calling it a team? they dont go and compete against other teams like oakley or line.

ski teams are LAME

i understand the ski manufacturers and movie crews having teams but the whole 'freeride team' has gotten waaaaay out of hand....no offense, joystick is a stellar company im sure, but mcome on, a Freeride Team for a pole company.....? Next thing you know we'll be seeing the 'Plasticworks ski boot clicky-down-tightener-thing freeride team' with every single pro on it and they'll be like 'yeah were so hot right now'....and it'll be gay

there was this snowboard comp a while back, the bettle or something, and it was burton vs rossignol and something else, and it was a jam, so nice... there should be a comp like that, team rossi vs armada vs salomon vs k2 or something, or oakley vs spy...

Every spring, TransworldSnowboarding puts on the team challenge. Basically the ams of each board team (with some big names) compete against each other in a bunch of different jams. Each team wears costumes to differentiate them. Its a really cool format. Last year's comp is featured in the current ish.

the `` TEAM `` as you said is a group of pro's endorsing the product that's all dudes. It good for the company name and helps them sell the stuff to us. many pro's are on a bunch of teams all at the same time.

well what else are they gonna call them, sponsored people? i like to think of it like race car 'teams' and the manufacturer gets points when they win(in this case they get kids to buy their shit)
