I started with a small clothing company, I didnt make a crazy email but it just said that I compete in my region and put my season edit in. Im currently on a 50% "sponsorship" but if I do well its possible it goes furthur. Good luck!

From what i'm hearing, you should send it to a local shop and just take if from there. Does that sound right? Or should I try to just send it to some companies. I'm guessing that this sponsorship you're looking for is in the field of competitive eating? My main advice is that you shouldn't go to a local shop like Grade A or Shop Rite. If you do want to go the commercial food-supply area, you'll want to look at actual restaurants like Subway and McDonald's because they'll provide you both with free food and challenges.

If you get into the Micky D's, I've heard there are a SHITTON of perks but also a lot of applicants, so it's really hard to get into. You could also try to get into some events like the Nathan's contest and get some footage that you can send to potential's.

Other than that, I suggest maybe getting some athletic gear sponsors (or maybe even just apparel companies) because you can rep their gear on national TV and because eating is seen as somewhat of a sport now. I know a few guys have gotten Nike, Under Armor, etc., but they're kind of tapped out. Also, you can look into getting promoted by local restaurants because they'll give you free food and usually t-shirts to rep them when you're being filmed and/or in the limelight.
