Replying to Chestmount for GoPro

I have been searching for the best way to go about takine POV shots. I ski mostly freeride and off piste. I have used the chestmount and the video always ends up being blocked by my hands when pole planting and on almost every big send the GoPro faces my knees and i have to throw away potentially great footage. the only other option is the headmount. I applied the 3m adhesive mount and tried it on. The gopro makes my hemlet go all over the place since when i wear a helmet, its on the outside of my googles. i hear action cam is lighter but i dont really want to buy a whole new camera. any suggustions?
