Snow Trails and Mad River Mtn are both open! This is the longest Ive gone without touching snow, let alone skiing in 10 years. Im ready to straightline everything I see. Being new to Columbus, should I go to ST or MRM?

Mad river is typically better, but snow trails has better snowmaking systems and generally has better early season conditions. Mad river is also owned by peak resorts whereas snow trails is independent, so it's a little more of a homey vibe at snow trails. Kind of a tossup this time of the year

Never been to mad river but there are a lot more park skiers there based on youtube so i'd imagine there is a good vibe. I wasn't getting a good vibe at snow trails besides the hike park that was filled with kids from mrm and bmbw.

Looking at what is open, it is looking like Ill be heading to MRM on Wednesday. Anyone else gonna be out there?

Can anyone comment on the vertical drop of MRM vs ST?

MRM was super fun yesterday, a couple of nice side hits, on the main runs (thanks for leaving a few snow piles up, instead of grooming them out), and the rail setup is really fun.

Awesome beta! I thought I had read that there was a little jump setup in the park? Maybe that was at ST?

Ill be out there tomorrow 1/6. Ill be the only guy out there on fat skis Im sure haha. My Hojis are my skinniest ski. Hit me up.

A bunch of guys on here and I ski up there all the time! Just reach out to any one of them and ask to ski with em..Mad River is chill as fuck so hopefully you'll get to chill and ski with us...The jumps are on point at Mad River so when we get them up you will love it! My name is Devon by the way in case we ever meet on the lift.

There was a tiny jump and i had to ski my 114 jeffery the other day, so enjoy skiing the big boys skis at the tiniest place, makes it a little more interesting.

I ended up being there for about 7 or 8 hours yesterday! Waaaay longer than I was expecting to be. Only say a few kids on twins later in the afternoon/eve. I hit more rails in the 5 runs I took through the line than I have in the last 5 years lol

right now i have no phone so i cant text or call anyone if im up..ill be up saturday til later..when i get a phone again ill get your # and you can ski with us..1) i suck at rails 2) i fall a lot 3) jumps with no tricks are my specialty if you down with that we can hang

Lol Im not the best at rails either man! Sounds good enough for me though! Yea I'm headed to seven springs for the weekend but I'll pm you my phone number and we will hit it up some time!
