Around 16:23 in this video on his DPS skis, the guy has a tech toe piece and a marker heel piece, with the toe piece on the floor next to him. Then moments later (16:35) it shows him boot packing with the toe pieces on the skis. It looks like they both attach onto a grey piece of metal which fits both toe pieces. It seems like this is a solution for lots of peoples problems having a lightweight tech setup going uphill, and a sturdy alpine binding going down. Anyways, is this common or am I just blind and have never seen it?
