Tyrolia Binding Hole Pattern

Hey NS,
I am looking to replace some tyrolia bindings that I had broken earlier in the year. They are mounted on a pair of volkl kinks that I had bought as my first ski a few years back. I did not know the exact model, so I took a look at the bindings and they said SP 10 on it.
So, now to my question: Instead of buying another pair of SP 10's and potentially having them break again, could I buy some Tyrolia Attacks? Would both bindings have the same hole pattern or not?

They do have a different jig but that is because the sp 10 is a demo binding and thus isn't adjusted for your bsl. The hole pattern can work if the set holes magically match or come close to your bsl, but there is a pretty good chance that it won't. I'd say bring them to a shop with a boot and have them check the holes against the attack template.

probably shouldnt use the same holes because the screws will not be as tight and therefore will rip out easier on a hard hit

Just had my local shop put some new attack 18s on pair of skis previously drilled for peak 18s and the hole pattern matched perfectly. Doesn't help you in your case, but if anyone planned on re drilling, you dont have to.

That"s the thing.. I would but I've had them drilled twice with the tyrolia setup, so no other brand but tyrolia will fit on them. My ski shop says that the old holes can't be filled in either...

Get a second opinion some shops are just shitty and wont do stuff

Yeah, that's not true. As long as the holes aren't stripped, and were sealed properly, there's nothing wrong with re-using holes.

I will add that the SP hole patter and the attack patters are different therefore if you want an attack you will need a new set of holes. If the skis have already been drilled a third set of holes shouldn't be an issue if you're not picky about where you end up on the ski.
