Agreed. I haven't seen any particularly good content from them either over the last couple of seasons, but that might be my tastes changing.
I think the saga sticker on my laptop is next in line for sacrificial covering.
That and saga are a old-persons holiday company here in the UK, and everyone seems to think of that before they think ' fairly obscure clothing brand that's really hard to get in this country'.
When i started skiing saga was the hype brand... Now i can't stand their products, they've really directed their brand towards that new skier who's trying to be different. Pretty whack

Yeah it used to be if you saw some one wearing saga 9/10 times they were a nser or spent a lot of tme skiing park now you see kids who ski 2 days a year in full saga everythiing its just weak but who knows maybe they will have a come back.
I like seeing it all over the mountain you get to see the new styles and stuff. They made the thermals on point I'll keep buying one or two of those a year. Good stuff if you get a huge discount on it. I like my ridiculously oversized jacket would be impractical as my only one but its good to have for poppin out in a t shirt with no other layers or if its a super cold day and I want to put bundles on underneath and bring beers and shit in my pockets.
Their stuff was never that underground or anything and I feel like less companies are putting out quality outerwear right now so Im not surprised its everywhere.

it's so easy to spot these people in really resort-y places, at park city a couple weeks back, i rode up with an entire family on the six-pack all sporting matching saga outfits, i shit you not. they also didn't speak any english.

not sure what you mean by this last part, I guess 'quality' is getting to be a more subjective term. I would not say saga has anything of quality at this point in time, everything I've owned by saga has fallen apart after not to much wear
Saga is guilty of over branding. Plastering SAGA SAGA SAGA . Way over done . They do make a minimum amount of lower key stuff that's decent , but tone it down and class it up is my opinion. Make less products of a higher quality too.
I bought a 100$ premium hoodie about 3 years ago that was super high quality. If they made more like that it could be pretty good. Especially the accessories like the balaclavas and gloves . Real inexpensive but also real chincy .

So when you started skiing park saga marketed themselves at new park skiers, they still employ that same strategy, but since you're not a new park skier anymore that strategy is whack?
You people are all trying to act cooler than the game. When I started there was no saga, everyone wore snowboard brands. It's nice to have a core ski brand that supports some of our favorite skiers, rather than that money getting funneled away from the sport

We do have a core ski brand it's called armada. They use a slogan " technologically superior " , and it's true . They implement and collaborate with companies like gore Tex , polartec, etc and make a far superior product than saga while maintaining a newschool freeski underground style .

i knew this was coming right when i posted that. You aren't wrong, i just don't like the way they have gone with the brand. It has most definitely changed since i started (park) skiing, they seemed more in tune with the community. They are probably doing the right thing doing what they are doing, i don't thing the business is bad nor the fact that it's a ski based company. Just not a fan of the stuff they are putting out atm, the market is pretty flooded with weird saga hoodies that look like they came from west 49.

But I don't have armada skis so the other kids will make fun of me for wearing an armada hoodie but no skis.
I think Saga has stayed quite consistent over the years - to those complaining about over-branding and loud designs, that's how Saga has always been. Their demographic is younger riders who are looking for something "out there." When I was a 15 year old park rat I thought Saga made the sickest shit too, but I've grown to like more subdued designs. We've matured away from their style, that's all.

This, I won't ever wear saga but they've done a damn good job of marketing their stuff, not a single 12 yo on the mountain without it now.

I am sure they spoke English if you spoke to them in English but why would a family ever converse with each other in a language that is not their own on a chairlift?
You should have complimented them on their outfits and made new friends...you could have maybe snagged an invite to stay with them in the alps or wherever the fuck they are from a year when the snow was good over there but shitty in PC.
They probably rock their Saga gear around back home and its super unique and trendy and noone wears it.
I wear Nascar gear and cowboy boots 24/7 but if I moved to the South where everyone dressed like that I'd wear that type of shit a lot less day to day BUT that doesn't mean I wouldn't go on vacation to the south without packing a pair of cowboy boots and a nascar hat.
They probably felt the same with Saga and felt the need to rep it in Utah.
I wear a SAGA jacket and pants (jacket bought off another NS'er for like $60, and the 3L pants for like $100 at end of last season) and honestly, I'm very happy with my gear. I ride park, but most of my riding is more freeride stuff and BC at Crystal mountain (small park, huge mountain with baller terrain).
I would definitely buy more saga, and plan on doing so when my stuff wears out.
