G3 Ion brake width question

I just ordered a pair of voile V6s and a G3 ion. The voiles are 100 in the waist and the ions have the 115 brake. I am now concerned that the brake will be too wide for my ski. If swapping for the size 100 isn’t too difficult I’ll do it. Problem is, I got the ions off ebay so while they won’t be impossible to exchange, it will be more difficult or costly than normal. Can anybody tell me if I’m going to be ok or not with this brake? This will be my first time owning a touring setup so I don’t want to fuck it up but if its not a huge deal I won’t worry about it. Thanks for the help

They will be wide but they will work. You can not switch out the brakes so that is not an option. Your best bet would have been going with the 100 then a small stretch on the arm. All and all nit the worst. You are not going to "fuck it up" with the 115 just a little over hang.

why not see how much extra space there is and make the decision off that. In skiing, especially with brake width, you often find that 115mm is not 115mm. I have the 115mm brake on my 108 skis, but also use a 105mm crampon.

I guess I wasn't so much concerned with damaging them, more so worried that I won't be able to edge if the arms are out too far. 100 would have been perfect.

Most brakes will retract a few mm when in up mode. you will have a few mm of over hang but you will never "brake out" on a tech set up. Your boot will blow out the toe pins way before your brake will ever hook up.

I'd be worried about the inside brake arms on opposite skis catching each other. It keeps happening with my resort skis, and is absolutely terrifying.
