Looking for a ski for COC

So im saving up to go to Camp of Champions this year and it seems my skis will all be trashed by the end of this year. I am not really sure what to expect for conditions up there but if its anything like windells from what i hear my skis will be destroyed from all the rocks, i do realize they are in different areas so i really dont know what to expect. I am going there to focus on my jump progression as Im not to good in the air. I am looking for a new ski to buy for the trip. im sued to a more playful ski with rocker but i also know camber is more stablem and better for jumps.I had a few skis in mind (#1 being my best option)

1. Surface park blanks - they are stiffer for jumps and a price point ski so i wouldnt care if they broke

2. J skis whip it- not as cheap but i do work in rental department so i get 20% off, have heard of edges being junk so im a bit skeptical

3. salomon nfx- seen lots of pros riding them and ik they are jump specific, heard bad things about their durability

4.armada t halls, ar7 or pipe cleaners- feel like the pipe cleaners would be a bit overboard for my style of riding heard good things about their company though

4. moment vice- love my vices now but i wouldnt want to buy a new pair and destroy them right away. Anyone hear anything about the frankenski and its triple camber

5. on3p presters- love my fr's and look forward to buy another pair, figured their presters would be awesome to

after coc i will use this ski for rails to so i dont want anything that is notorious for bad edges that will last me a week into next season


Each ski gets more expensive which makes me hesitant to spend a lot of money on them for a summer ski camp. like i said mainly gonna focus on jumps so i want something that will grip and be stable. im 5'11 and 185 pounds current set ups are 178 moment vice and 176 on3p filthy rich. Open to other suggestions for skis or feedback, Id like to stay loyal to on3p and moment cause their skis have been great but they may not fit what im looking for in my current situation. looking for any info on jump specific skis and on Coc and what to expect . let me know what you guys think or have for ideas. +k for helpful responses

Personally I love the blanks. Camp of champs isn't too rocky mind. I rode up there for the summer last year and it was more glacier ice than rocks even at the end of the last week

are the blanks like 2 by 4's or is there a little flex to them. ik surface makes some pretty stiff skis

The Frankenskis are so bad ass. The triple camber grips anything and are so fun to hit rails and stuff with, they have 0 swing weight. And they're not to bad on jumps

They're pretty dam stiff relative to a lot of park skis. But they are a well built and very very solid ski that performs well. You probably won't be able to butter them well but you can't have it all.

I would recommend the all mountain 100mm ones...they are quite cheap also.

Your not going to want to super super soft ski especially after this year at camp. There are some pretty sweet lines and areas on the glacier to ski around...wehn I was up there back in the day on big big snow years Im glad I had stiffer skis for riding around 7th heaven and the lines above the old high north line.

I have an unmounted pair sitting and they almost 2x4s. The very tips and tails have some small flex but for the most part they are stiff. Haven't ride them yet though.

im looking for a jump specific ski dont you think 100 mm would be a little big? or are they just super light, would mount them to a pair of fks 140 with 95mm brakes

I'd probably rule these out if I were you. Super soft skis and the edges on my old pair got chopped up in like 30 days of skiing. I also felt like I was overpowering them a little bit.

thats what ivebeen hearing about j skis the more ive researched them, its a shame he seems to have a sick company with some great ideas

If you're set on a ski in that list the prester seems like a good choice. As for COC there aren't many rocks that I would be worried about, they're all pretty much huge boulders or big enough to not worry about hitting

I have 2 pairs of J's with 50+ days on one pair and am yet to crack or pull an edge. I hit a rock early season and got a massive core shot about an inch long right across the edge underfoot and the edge has no damage besides burs. Maybe others haven't had the same luck but the edges are thick and they have been very durable for me.

Got the pipe cleaners this year and they are a really fun ski so far! Really smooth and forgiving flex that is very stable due to the camber. Only thing is the bases dry out very fast and have to be maintained fairly often
