Volkl 100eight mounting point

What's your reasoning for wanting to mount far forward? The 100eight isn't exactly a ski shaped/designed to be mounted far forward...

it doesn't have to be a park ski to be mounted far forward. I like the balance you get, the swing weight and the ski feels quicker with more modern mounting. I know that Oscar Scherlin mounts his 100eight at -4 cm from true center. i would like to mount -4 to -5 cm from center as well. But as you say, depending on where the recommended lines are, it might be the wrong ski for me. There is all mountain skis, powder skis and chargers with mounting points -3 cm from true center to 10 cm from true center. Mantras recommended point is -9,5 from true center i think, and is why i won't buy them.

You are right about that. The thing is that i would like to see which points that are on the skis, and know where they are located. I mean they could recommend -9,5 as the mantras, and oscar could mount his at -4. I would feel better if the recommended line is -5 or something, in that case i would know that they recommend about the same point as i want to stand.

Dadali mounts his Volkl two true center, so it is possible, but i mounted mine at recommended for freestyle, which is + 5 from völkl reference point (which isn't a specified point of the ski in terms of -x cm from true center.) So by choosing freestyle without knowing where Reference point is located compared to true center, i wouldn't know where i was mounting. Völkl reference could be 15 cm from true center, and in that case freestyle would be -10. I found out by asking that freestyle is 5 cm behind true center, which is about the same as i'm trying to do now.


If you order skis online, usually you can only choose "recommended point". And if i don't know where that is i can't know if the ski is something for me. That is my dilemma, nd why i started this thread.

I'm sorry for my bad english and for bad examples but it is hard to express and formulate questions and thoughts when english isn't your native tongue.

I will try to reach out to Volkl as well, since i'm not sure if the 100eight have the same H pattern wood core as the BMT series has. This wood core is stronger where the binding should be mounted and on the BMT you should only use marker bindings. If i mount to far forward i might miss the wood core. Which is a problem for me, but not for Scherlin which probably would receive a new pair if his bindings got torn of the ski. So that's also why i can't only go with how he mounted his.
