For a mac definitely final cut pro. It's so optimized to run on OSX. Unless you are making frequent professional videos and making serious money from them, there's no need to pay for a premiere subscription.

I like to play each individual clip on my phone in front of another camera, and just record the whole edit out of these clips.

It may sound complicated, but it will produce the smoothest edits you will ever see, I swear by this technique

premiere pro is $10/mo i believe and you can cancel it at any time when you're not using it. Much cheaper.
