I just got 186 revision subtractions and now im wondering if I should have gone 176. After seeing them they are BIG. That being said Ive been skiing 186 jeffreys (the 108 underfoot ones) as my main ski. My logic was that since these have more rocker and a tighter radius (28m? Vs 15m), I wouldnt want to go shorter. Im 5'8'' 145 and im wondering if the length combined with the width is gunna be too much for an east coast ski for hitting stuff above tree line at stowe and tight trees. Thoughts?
You just have to stay on top of them. It'll probably take some getting used to.
My girlfriend is 4'11", and her first non-race ski is a 169 K2 Remedy 112. Something completely different and new for her this year.
They stand well above her head. She was unsure at first, but has just been working them, and can ski on them everywhere now.
I think you'll be fine, it's just intimidating. Every time I've been on a new big ski, it takes some getting used to, but before you know it, you'll be cruising.
