The generation still getting gifts from their parents confuses me.
When I was a teenager, I recall getting a $40 discman, some batteries and a tower records gift card in my stocking and a $150 gift certificate to the mall of america and thinking it was the best christmas ever. Senior year I got a gift basket of college dorm stuff since my mom was so proud of my SAT's and getting in my college applications and what not. I think another year I got a matching pajama set and a gift card to home depot for like $50 to repaint my bedroom and then a IOU a new comforter/sheets to match.
My parents never spent more than $200... but I suppose I was in highschool pre ipod and when columbia jackets and hot topic flannels were the pinnacle of ski fashion.
That being said.... I dropped around $1000 on ski stuff in the last month and im in Japan till February 4th. Being an adult right now doesn't suck.
Assorted vineyard vines stuff (probably gonna flip and sell it to support the ski life)
Giro Combyn
Stance Socks
Amazon gift cards
Beats pill 2.0 (might trade for a turtle shell)
electric toothbrush (yeet)
Buff face tube
No skis :( but i'm gonna buy some myself with my job money before the season starts (lol gtfo el niño)

idk. My family was never big on Christmas gifts. After years of asking for a Ps2 to no avail, I kind of stopped expecting much. These days I put more effort into giving my parents gifts than they do.
nick_aMeh, it was a gift. I don't mind, I've played it for about an hour so far and I'm having enough fun with it. I also plan on buying a lot more games soon too
I just don't like it... I'm a crab don't take it personally. If you want to play, let me know.
Squash racquet (prince pro beast 750), pair of shoes, and a bunch of stuff from the lady which I'm yet to receive. Stoked with everything, especially because I got to spend the day with almost the entire extended family, which hasn't happened in yonks. Get to see my brother tomorrow, too. Wicked christmas overall

Haha nah no worries. I just got battlefront and NBA 2k16 today. Any other recommendations for good games? Preferably ones with good online multiplayer modes. I have a $150 mall gift card

Played the new starwars game for a hour or two at a friend's and it was pretty sweet. If your interested in nononline fallout is amazing.

Yeah I'm about to start my player in 2k then when I get bored I'm gonna start battlefield. I kind of want to get fallout but I didn't care for new Vegas... To me the gameplay and controls felt clunky m, so I never played it enough to know if the story was good. Is it better control and gameplay wise?

Kinda hard to say since it's been years since I played new Vegas and it was on ps3 and I'm on xbox one now. Plus I never thought the controls where bad so someone else may be able to shine some light on there better.

Game play is almost exactly the same. Controls are literally exactly the same. Was honestly sort of disappointed with it, but I love Fallout so I still think it's great. The story is absolutely incredible and the sheer size of the game and options and decisions able to be made that affect the path of the story is what makes it so appealing to me ateast.

I think it has a lot to do with getting super commercialized. I actually told my parents not get me anything when I asked what I wanted. I got a couple really small cheap but cool things like a laundry bag that is a punching bags case because I used to fight mma. My mom also got me a jump rope which I needed because my 5 year old one finally broke. My dad got me this cool like nerf crossbow thing that shoot darts 100 ft and a small robotics kit. In total it was probably about $70 in total, but I wasn't expecting anything and I actually loved everything I got.
well i got a few small things like ski socks and cookbooks, but more i just bought my self a ton of stuff haha
sold my car about a week ago for a decent chunk of cash, bought a touring set up, arcteryx pants, a recycler bubbler, a hash pen, and am going to get a downhill bike. fuck having a car when i can have a bunch of other cool shit instead.
ghosthopI didn't know which thread to reply to, sorry not sorry for the dubpost
here's what I got skiing related.
And these are on the way from the owner of the shop I used to work at. Sometimes it pays to have good relationships with your employer.
great goggles and even better mitts. just make sure to use that waterproofing treatment stuff after a few outings, my mitts got soaked from the previous storms and I had to lather them up. Other than that, they are the best damn mittens ever.
I got a new phone; LG G Flex 2 which is a nice upgrade from my galaxy s5. Also got some pajamas, a water bottle, a gordie howe jersey which im pretty pumped on, my mom got my sisters BF a yzerman one but im cool with Mr. Hockey, One of those "Salute to Service" Nike NFL Detriot Lions beanies, and a bunch of snacks.
-emile-I was actually referring to dj Khaled's greatest quote.
''when life gets in your way, break the door down and put the hinges in the fuckboy's hand''

You don't get gifts from your parents? That's sad. My cousins are almost 30 and they still get Christmas gifts. For lack of better term your parents seem cheap.
I got my ski pass paid for, $50 in gas money, $60 to oreillys, $50 to mcdonalds, $100 to target, $100 dollar visa, $50 dollar visa, $50 in cash, $50 to a local ski shop, and a mint condition silver dollar that's worth around $40 dollars.
I feel like im a spoiled little kid even though this all came from my divorced parents and their boyfriend/girlfriend, grandparents, and cousins. Really stoked on what I got and I didn't even ask for this much. Couldn't have asked for a better christmas.

I feel sort of bad too honestly. All I asked for was some clothes and some bindings, but my grandma ended up getting me a new laptop for school and a new ski jacket, as well as paying half of the 3k it cost to fix my car. Very thankful this holiday season. Even more wonderful was the fact that my family was all happy and healthy and together for the first time in probably 4 or 5 years.

Not everyone is in a place to spend a lot on gifts? Some people travel instead of doing gifts? Sometimes gifts aren't a big deal to people?
