Volkl one?

Could i get away with using the volkl one as a resort ski? I already have park skis and some old but decent all mountain skis that are 90mm width. Would it be worth it to get the ones if i use them for pow days road trips to B.C and maybe some casual resort riding?

Im really light (like 125 or a little more i believe, also i'm 5'7/5'8 but i'm growing still) but i enjoy a ski that i can charge with but is also nimble and fun. I enjoy dropping decent cliffs like maybe 15+ at the very most also love to hit anything i can find that works as a drop or jump and do the casual 360 or if i'm feeling lucky backflips, frontflips, 540's etc... also want to expand my horizon towards backcountry booters and getting off tricks in the backcountry.

So is it worth it to get these? if this means anything i had the volkl bridge and I really didn't like them it almost felt like to much tip (which made them feel less nimble maybe?) and i was mounting a little + recommended and i'm not just a park skier so i'm actually less used to center mounted, something about them just felt like they didn't have any flex, not that they were to stiff just that they were kinda jittery if you know what i mean?

yeah they will be fine. The volkl one is a good ski that kinda gets overlooked for its versatility. When it's on edge it can rail pretty well but it has a pretty big turn radius for a ski in its category, the shape definitely favors a big gs turn. If you tighten things up on hardback it gets a little squirrelly. The flex is a lot better than the bridges it's not a noodle but it will work for playing around. It will be a lot better in variable, powder, etc.. Than the bridges are. I wouldn't mind having the ones on my feet for most resort days. I skied them at recommended and liked them there I could see going a little forward and being fine especially if you are small. Definitely would be a good addition to your quiver.

awesome thanks so much man i think sadly im going to wait till next season to grab a pair because right now i am growing incredibly fast and i dont want to buy a pair then only use them for half a season

I would stay away from volkl unless it's a volkl with metal in it. Volkls have a hard time staying glued together right underfoot of the binding.

Just got some Volkls this year through an amateur deal - the One 186 is my current resort pow/all mountain ski. It's Awesome. Not a lot of snow in europe atm so has been mainly piste/dusty crusty riding, but has held up awesome on hard pack if you like fast long turns. Admittedly, as someone said earlier it does get a tiny bit squirrelly in really tight areas and I mean really tight, but performed well through trees, nice swing-weight, great in the air and absolutely nailed it through shitty crusty snow, almost slices through it due to its weight. Only downside is it is a little bit heavy as most volkls are and the traditional mount is a bit far back than I am used to (mounted at +5) but you get used to is. So far damn happy with these skis and am looking forward to trying them out in deeper snow and a few BC kickers.

The whitedot director. Narow but the tip splay makes them float pow.

I have never heard of this problem with any volkl skis and currently own 3 pairs of volkl skis without metal and none of them have had any structural issues.

Sunday river ski patrol in the 2012/2013 season warrantied 3 pairs of gotamas. A lift supervisor at Sunday river has warranted his gotamas 3 years in a row. Last year at big sky last year I warratied a pair of my shops demo gotamas. We also had one's for demo and we had a tip delam and a lot of sidewalls get compressed. If you ride hard volkl products will not last a full 100 day season.

Hmm guess I will just have to see. I do have well over 100 days on a pair of ones and they are holding up fine. My pair of goats haven't seen as much use though so I can't attest for them. This is the first I have heard of this problem. Did all the skis delam in the same spot?

Same spot on all of them. The edge separates from the bottom of the sidewall right underfoot.

I have last years steps and gotamas, and have had no issues thus far. But they are far from 100 days, so we'll see.

OP, I would def consider last years gotama too as an all mountain option from Volkl. I love mine for everything
