Pow skis

As you know it is absolutely puking powder over here on the west coast. And expected to keep puking for the next few weeks.
Just curious to what pow skis the west coast bros are running. Looking for some insight, want to add some new pow boards to the stable.

I have armada magic js and they are the most fun skis i've ever had. Hella flexible so buttering isn't too hard whenever you're on a regular run, and float so well in pow. definitely get some fatties, you'll have a ton of fun floating around.

The Nordica Patrons are so bomb!!! I use them every day pow or not. And you can get them for 300$

I'm on apo rockos which aren't really true pow skis, but they're plenty floaty for the heavy snow we get on Hood. Really fun in all conditions too, especially when its getting chundery

Surface Balance (new New Life's).

They are a big ski (151/122/151), but they are light and so freaking playful, but also stiff and charge over everything. I've got 194's and outside of really tight trees and mogul situations, they are good everywhere. My brother's got the 184's and he swears by them.

Also, they throw the biggest rooster tail ever behind you, which is really the most important thing, right?

I've been having a blast on my YLEs. My wife just got her Gypsy skis mounted and she had full on perma-grin floating around last weekend.

4frnt Devastators, YLE's, Renegades

Those are the 3 pairs I use the most, Devastators are more of an all mountain ski but handle a good amount of pow nicely, The YLE goes anywhere does anything and floats nicely no matter how deep it is, The renegades like to be driven hard in the deepest pow you can find, preferably a nice wide open cirque where you can make as few turns as possible, but they're equally at home in more technical pillow lines, trees, and more or less anywhere that's not groomed

With how much snow we've been getting you can't go too wide in my opinion. The Volkl three looks pretty interesting
The ideas behind the Volkl Three Ski are pretty simple???make it wide, make it straight, make it surfy, and make it fun. At 135mm underfoot, the first point's been accomplished. The second? In the 186cm length, the Three has a turning radius of nearly 51m???that long enough for you? Surfy? Sure, thanks, to the fully rockered profile and tapered tip that smears, slides, floats, and slashes through the deepest powder you can find. Is all this fun? That's down to preference, but if you're into blower pow, big open lines, and massive mountains, it's hard to imagine it's not going to be your weapon of choice.


Personally I'm still riding my K2 Hellbent's, and will continue to do so until they break.

Thanks for the replies fellas! I am going to go gaper ask what length you suggest. I am 6-2 and always have prefered my ski to be bit shorter than suggested.
Never had "true" powder and skiis so any info helps

I love them, my favorite ski I have ridden. They're incredibly fun in the deep stuff but also like to charge through the crud when it starts to get tracked out. I have the 192 (5' 11" 150lb) and the long edge contact makes them ski really well on groomers too. They hold an edge better on hard pack then my park skis. They're incredibly versatile for how wide they are.

well mine's a 2010 so idk how much they've changed about it, but mine could use some more camber. love the dimensions though and will definitely take them through the park. I like a heavy ski.

I got vices so they have the same profile as the Bibby and love the rocker so maybe id love these?

probably. they're the best ski i've ever owned. they gotta lotta early rise so make sure to get a big size. really easy to butter around in. and ski switch.

skied my friends YLES and I liked em, but I like my Bibby's more. more sidecut and rocker but less camber. you can't really go wrong with any of those skis.
