californiagrownSo who is a more viable candidate?
Bernie? whose policies are so radical they have no fucking chance in hell of being put into place, let alone the guy getting more than 20% of the general vote.
Trump? the frontrunner in the Republican party? yeah. thats a great option.
Who is the better option than hilary? seriously, use adult, real world thinking here.

skiermanBrah, they're called executive decisions and voting for the right representatives. I hope Bernie burns Wall Street to the ground.
S.J.WRand Paul and Sanders are the only two options I would even consider to be real options who are in the presidential race to make a change for the better. Everyone else is just bought out by big banks and corporations.
californiagrownyoure a political mastermind! Lets back the most unelectable of all the candidates, and then bitch and moan when a really, really terrible candidate gets elected because the vote for the lesser of two evils had their vote split by you and youre short sighted cronies.
a genius, I tell ya!!
TheHamburglarI don't disagree with you much, I just downright hate you. Just so you know.

californiagrownbrah its called unelectable.
Right now youre speaking like a head in the clouds, not in reality 18 year old.
PCPRINCIPALNo chance in hell?
My adult, real world thinking was savvy enough to see that Sanders was going to be very very popular all the way back in April.
Listen to what little logic you possess and accept that voting for Hilary is voting for the establishment that has failed us.
Go ahead and roll over for Hillary. By supporting her you are supporting failure, you are supporting the elitist who care only for themselves. Good Job.
PCPRINCIPALLast year in the wake of the VA waitlist scandal, Bernie sponsored the most comprehensive veterans legislation in decades. He then partnered with Sen. John McCain to get it passed into law. Sanders' bill, known as the Veterans CHOICE Act, greatly improved VA dental and healthcare by expanding access. It hired more doctors and nurses to see us, created more VA hospitals for more convenient appointments, and improved transparency and accountability in the VA. It expanded educational opportunities by preventing states from denying in-state college tuition to military members, and guaranteed those same benefits to surviving spouses. Bernie's bill also created new measures to put veterans back to work. Without question, Bernie would be the first to acknowledge that more must be done, but his bill was a major step in the right direction. As President, we know Bernie will fight to fix what's broken at the VA and ensure Veterans are taken care of when we return home.
.MASSHOLE.April is not that long ago, he has been a popular figure in Vermont for decades.
PCPRINCIPALSanders announced his candidacy on April 28th. How long ago April was is irrelevant.

FriedRiceyou are definitely 18 years old the way your asserting yourself by using belittling forms of passive aggressiveness. An "adult" would consider all candidates in the party and choose one that represents their values, not shrug their shoulders and vote for a candidate that clearly has no place in office.
sure Bernie's radical but at least he's predictable. Dude hasn't changed his stance on anything in the past 20 years. I'd love to remind you of Hillary's disgusting past of lying and hypocrisy, but you sound a bit too convinced by her hundred million dollar campaign that she's already the decided winner. if you really look into Bernie's campaign platform you'll realize that his extremely liberal values clearly won't pass through legislation, but the man has big ideas all over the place. Most importantly for me is he's vowing to stop global warming, which many of the other candidates literally pretend is a myth in order to gain the trust of pacified America.
californiagrownBernie is unelectable in the general election. That is obvious. He is doing a good job of raising points and questioning the status quo, but he is unelectable. The question you need to ask is who will be worse for america- Hilary, or one of the Republican candidates.
nocturnalI think it's only halftime and you're jumping to conclusions. I do agree that it would be very surprising if he wins over Hilary but it's definitely a small possibility of that happening.

This election is fucked for both Republicans and Democrats. The top republican candidate seems like a plant intent on ruining the party forever. And the runner-up democratic candidate will likely weaken the party significantly when he inevitably loses the nomination and then splits the liberal vote by selfishly running as an independent.
californiagrownIf he gets the nomination there is no chance in hell he wins the general. No chance. And that means one of the bigotted, fear mongering republican candidates gets elected. And that truly terrifies me.

nocturnalI definitely think Bernie Sanders would beat out Donald Trump.
ianrich511I fucking hate political NSers threads.
onenerdykidI sadly can't find it, but there was an article I saw the other day that, using poll data, showed that if we get a scenario of Hillary vs Republican, the Republican will win but if we get a scenario of Sanders vs Republican, Sanders will win. I wish I could find that because it was very interesting.
But I do agree with californiagrown here insofar as Hillary is a vastly lesser evil in comparison to the current front runners of the GOP. If we have to pick between Hillary and either Trump/Carson/Cruz, Hillary will get my vote 10/10 because those idiots represent a far greater threat to everything than Hillary does.

Haha. There wasn't anything passive about me calling him and now YOU naive.
And adult decision is one based on the real world effectiveness of his or her vote. Not the "in a perfect world where everyone believes the way I do" effectiveness.

ebotdzyoure massively begging the question here. he's unelectable because hes unelectable! solid reasoning there.
furthermore, what makes you so certain he would run as an independent if he doesn't receive the nomination? of all the people involved in this joke of an election cycle, he seems to be one of the more sensible ones who would realize the damage of splitting votes.
fuckmekevinSo Bernie is unelectable because he's unelectable? Makes perfect sense.
.MASSHOLE.It was well known that he was going to run for a long time despite his announcement in April.p
MLBHonestly I don't envy you guys in the states who have to vote in this shitstorm. In all honesty though if you guys don't vote Bernie in then we can basically write the U.S. off.
This is fucking scary for the rest of the world. As much as I hate to admit it America does have a leadership role to play in world events and looking at who you guys have to choose between...it HAS to be Bernie.
californiagrownbrah its called unelectable.

williamelliott1theres always a huge fucking campaign with posters and ads everywhere with different candidates saying they'll do this and that but I cant remember them ever actually doing something they say theyre going to do so basically politics are way over hyped

nocturnalYou must remember a perfect square has no corners. Also by that idiotic logic the world would never progressed if we never listen to the words of others.
californiagrownListen and interpreted the words of others. Don't just regurgitate.
In any case, I was more poking fun at him not responding with his own words and ideas, instead responding with a pretentious philosophy meme thing that didn't have a whole lot to do with what we were discussing. Hence, me quoting something pretentious, and attributing it to myself.

PCPRINCIPALgtfo....Hardly anyone even knew who Sanders was until this year.
why are people from Massachusetts so god damn pretentious. literrally every person from that state is an asshole to some degree
californiagrownI would love to see that article. From everything I've read ( editorials, polls, and factual reporting) it seems as though a large part of the country wants to move a little back towards the middle from Obama's policies... Bernie is a strong jump to the left. I believe the moderate right voter base would be mobilized by a Bernie Sanders nomination, but not with a much more moderate Hilary nomination. Similarly, a trump nomination would mobilize sane peoples votes, but a rubio nomination wouldn't.
fuckmekevinWhy in every election do we choose to vote on the lesser of two evils. Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Boeing — devote about a third of their funds to democratic candidates, Hilary being a favorite of the arms industry. She received the most funds from arm companies during the 2006 senate and has received more funds from the arms industry than all other 2016 candidates, more than any other republican candidate. So a vote for Hilary is a vote for the military industrial complex.
onenerdykidThis is actually a different one that I was thinking of, but it has a similar outcome:
Sanders Defeats Trump by 13 Points in General Election (poll by Quinnipiac University)

californiagrownBut what about Cruz, Carson, rubio, etc?
Trump won't get the nomination because he is unelectable as well. How does Bernie poll against the other frontrunners on the right?
