Worst skis you've owned

I think we all have at least one pair of skis in the past that have been terrible for one reason or another... Post what skis they were, and the reason for them being bad.

Mine are 2014 line futurespins. The actual performance an weight of the skis are great but they fell apart in a month. Top sheet is half off, no edge under foot on both skis, edge peeling out at both tips.

I loved the skis when they were in tact, they just didn't have near the durability a park oriented ski should have.

Post yours below, hope this will help the community and maybe show the manufacturers whats up.

Sierra tt1 (my parents bought me these not what I wanted though) I landed backseat and broke the core of my left ski in half. Lost edge underfoot of the rights ski and the tip delaminated

Got these off a guy on ebay. Said they would make me "jump further". They came the other day and let me say: WTF! They have like no sudecut, no camber or rocker, and they are like 140mm underfoot. Never mind the fact that they are twice my height. He advertized them as 240cm, but I assumed that was one ski stacked vertically on top of the other one. I feel so ripped off.

I rented skis when I was 10 and I got these Elan twin tip skis that were so heavy and just an overall crappy ski

2013 Liberty Lte....

Every skis that I had lived 1 or 2 seasons.

This Liberty Lte was sick, very light, good pop and I loved them on rails, but were not durable at all.

I needed to change them six months after buying them because there was no more edge on the ski, not only cracked, but completely taken out. The topsheet was also in bad condition at the end....

Kastle James. Broke after a month of light use (I rarely hit rails at the time). Got them replaced, and they fell apart during a mogul competition. I didn't crash, I just skied to the bottom and noticed that they were trashed.

I've been blessed to never have a truly bad ski. My least favorite pair has been my Volkl Walls which I blew both tips up on within 2 months of riding them. Besides that however the skis are super nice for when you wanna throw down in the park. They're still ridable, though they look crazy. I get lots of comments on the delam.

Coreupt lunatic. After a month or riding the sidewall came out exposing the whole core, edges fell off on one ski, delaminated in all 4 tips. $99 on eBay though so..

Atomic infamous for sure, i broke 2 pairs within 3 months. its not like im a super hard skier but they completely fell apart, the top sheet, edges, and bottom of the ski were not intact. worst durability ever.

K2 shreditor 102. Honestly a bad ass ski for all mountain freeriding. But damn these mother fukers are jinxed. Shit, first day on em broken binding. Third day hit a rock mock five had to do some creative epoxi work. damm I feel like these mofos trying to kill me.

Ps the rock was my fault I know.

Best - Faction, All of them and a few of my Rossis (S5 and Sickles/S6s)


Skis come in all shapes and sizes and, like most people, I research what I'm buying and am always pretty happy with what I'm getting out of the ski. All skis slide. The above ratings are purely on durability. Every pair of Salomons I have ever owned has shit the bed.

Never really had any problems with my own personal skis and I have always liked my skis, but I have ridden alot of my friends skis and by far the most boring, lame, and sad ski I have ever used was AR7s. I just have no fun using them and I have tried skiiing them 3 times now nothing about them is fun except the cool graphics. They are durable however.

worst durability were J Skis Whipits. those bitches fell apart so fast and the kid who rides them is just a casual park skier and the noses snapped somehow.

The Head J.O. Pro. Had a pair of 08's which held up for years, but also had a pair of 09's that lost edge within 2 weeks and snapped in half from landing toe heavy on my first rodeo 5

None I don't buy shitty skis. I've had some trash bindings over the years though anything 12 din or less is garbage.


I purchased some Amp Rictors off Evo b/c I couldn't turn down 500 bucks with shipping and Marker 14 din bindings to match but 184 cm is a little short for me they might be going back I don't wanna be on something that short at full speed and I can get my 203cm shiros around moguls and tight trees perfectly fine. WTF K2 having that be the longest ski in the line only making skis for people 6'1" and shorter you bustas I want that ski so bad but I don't wanna be on something that short if its not a park ski.

Last actual new pair of skis that I got, 06 liberty chopper. Edge underfoot was gone within hours of riding rails. Wasn't a total loss, was able to get new skis with the warranty and sell them.

I've never had a truly bad pair of skis, but my least favorite was my k2 recoils. Durable as hell, I've but them through the ringer and they are still in once piece minus edge cracks and and some stuff like that, but they ski like a pair of 2x4's. Super heavy and feel dead to ski, definitely my least favorite pair I've owned

I think Faction and Rossis make some pretty unreliable skis. Rossi edges are paper thin and absolutely blow, faction skis are light but they always delam. Salmon has some pretty awesome skis. The Rocker2 100 is not that bad and skis awesome, but many of Salomon’s past skis for instance the Twenty Twelves were very unreliable.

I also have the K2 RECOILS and they are one of, if not the most durable skis I have ever owned. A lot of people can vouch for this. I don’t why but I love skiing heavy, damp skis. To compare, my year old atomic punx look worse than my three year old recoils. Recoils are great for urban and thrashing.

Elan SCX parabolic skis.

Only ski I've blown the edges out. Not that they were made for rails, but I was poor and twin tipped skis were rare back then, particularly in Saskatchewan. I learned 360's on them though, so they weren't all bad.

I agree, never owned a pair but rode a friends and they were so heavy and boring to ride, worse then my afterbangs because those at least were kind of noodly and fun to dick around with

I guess I like damp, heavy ski’s. I have recoils and love them and also the atomic punx but do not like the way they ride.

For a park ski what would be fun to whip around, poppy but not too soft? Would it be anything like the Punx, because I don’t really like them.
