I really hope its cold, I feel like it definetley should be snowing latest by mid January. It snowed a little dusting at my house in southern NH and people all over the state got an inch or 2. It seems like Mass and southern NH are getting the worst weather, mountains in VT and northern places can blow snow at night but my mountain just blew snow for the first time since the monday before thanksgiving.
All I know is I skied Loon today and it was the worst conditions I might have ever skied. Pure ice with bits and pieces of fake snow, while getting blasted by every snow blower on the mountain. There's 10 trails open and it's about to be Christmas weekend. Could be the last straw for me, I need to get back out west
Once I make the move out west I dont see myself coming back east for any serious time. Just holidays and r2r. Other than that I plan on staying out west for as long as humanly possible

Gore had the same conditions today and they only had 7 trails open. Hopefully conditions are better for tomorrow.

Brule.Gore had the same conditions today and they only had 7 trails open. Hopefully conditions are better for tomorrow.
Same with Killington. I see a theme here haha. I had to go in after about ever 3rd run because my googles would become useless. I can deal with the ice, but I need to be able to see haha

at okemo today it snowed 3-4 inches and stayed relatively soft for most of the day
Headed to Okemo today and it was absolutely rad. best day so far without a doubt. The park features were icy as balls but im not surprised and it wasnt even a problem since their trails were full of trannies, moguls, and side hits that you could absolutely BOOST

true. I came back after college because of a knee injury and ended up landing a good job in the meantime, so that and family has kept me here, but I might need to make the move back soon.

Yup! Here in MI I've only had one dusting of 1/4" only. Look at my 10 day. Pretty bummed to say the least. I hooked all 3 of my kids and myself up with new skis this year for nothing.

yup. same here, its ridicoulous, i quit my job so i could ski more this december and my family had planned a few trips up north but i guess not
Ya know I've been seeing these threads about east coast weather and I keep saying be optimistic its still just december but now I have given up hope and I'm not gonna be able to ski until late January. I might have to set up my rail and go get some ice rink snow.
nothing happened. A dusting overnight, although the snow was much better today but it was still all fake snow. Much less ice though. Overall about a 4/10 on the condition scale
I was gonna go skiing, but they're saying it's supposed to rain in upstate NY. I thought Whiteface was gonna be my best bet, but it's gonna rain there, too. :'(
January will be super cold and everything with snowmaking will be open. Basically by Jan 4th when all the gapers go home it will be what it should be like now because we don't get much snowfall early even last year.
At some point in Feb/March the natural will come and make everything good and super fun.
Guarantee the mountains are covered with snow and awesome in April when everyone bitches out and it gets empty.
