Long hair or short hair? I'm all for long hair, it's more of a newschooler steezy look to have unwashed long ratty hair hah. I've had long hair pretty much my whole life...
I've decided over the past few years that I look way better with short hair, but I have a feeling I could maybe pull off the man bun thing if I really wanted to. The only part about having long hair that sucks is that awkward-ass stage between it being too short to flip over my face, and not being long enough to have an even flip. It's a two to three month phase for me.
And if you're confused about what I mean by "flip", I mean that my hair sits one direction (to the left) when it's short, and once it gets longer, it flips over to the right side for some odd reason (Think old Justin Bieber hair).
I prefer short hair, but I do miss my long hair sometimes and do think about growing it out every once and awhile. Short hair is just so damn easy! Especially when you haven't used any shampoo or conditioner for over a year and your hair reverts back to it's natural state. SHOWERS ARE SO MUCH QUICKER AND YOUR HAIR IS SO MUCH SOFTER AND SHINIER.
Haven't got a haircut since spring of senior year of HS in 2013. Started out as laziness, then I wanted dreads, now I'm going to donate it. My ponytail is 11.5 inches so long enough to donate, but now that it's winter I'm gonna wait until spring to chop it off.
Also SafariSam told me I nailed the man bun when she saw me on campus at MSU. Had multiple girls compliment me on my hair. They are some pretty fucking luxurious locks though, very thick and wavy.
If you can't tell, I've become very attached to my hair since I've grown it out. But last time I tripped shrooms I became obsessed with the idea that I have attached to much of my identity to my hair and now I can't wait to cut it off.
Also in the wise words of Mitch Hedberg, "I wish long hair was associated with something other than drug use."

I have so much appreciation for everything in this post
I am currently growing my hair out, and everyone tells me it looks good. It really only takes a few mins to get it ready in the morning then I use my tuque to style it or hide it between the awkward stages. I've only really had short hair so I'm trying something new out.
To give it a great look and shine to it I wouldn't recommend washing it every day. I usually give it like 2 days before I wash it with shampoo and conditioner. Sometimes longer if it's feeling dry and pube-y. I feel your natural oils repair the damaged dry hair.
also pro-tip and this might sound weird at first, but trust me. Get this exact flea comb to comb your hair if you have longer hair. It's honestly the best comb I've ever used on my hair. hahaha I bought it new and before using it on my dog I had to buy another one so the dog can have his and I get the best comb I've ever used.
You will be able to tell if it's the same by checking to see if it's two combs that are basically running parallel on the same stick.

going on 3 years with no shampoo and no conditioner, and I don't miss it at all. might shave all my hair off though, would be way better for morning runs to work

plyswthsqrrlsworst. protip. ever.
Like I said, you can't knock it until you try it. It's made for thick fur. I have some of the thickest hair. I have actually burned out a few hair clipper in my day because of how thick it is. Just because it's not a popular choice doesn't mean I'm not right.
It's not like we operate a comb through genetic code. Lol
I've been growing out my hair for about 6 months now but it grows crazy slow so its only gone from above my eyebrows to my lips. And I had a few times this semester where I got super stressed so combined with really dry damaged hair and actually lost some hair so I have a couple weird strips of inch long hair in random spots. It looks kinda okay with just the greasy flowy lion mane look, but I don't really know what to do with it otherwise other than stick it under a beanie. Not that big of an issue, but when I need to get a job I might have to figure out how to manage it without a hat, or just cut it back to where it was.
eheathIt's all personal preference really, I've been growing my hair for 2 and 1/2 years now and sure its a pain in the ass at times but I also love it. Another thing is when you grow your hair out you become extremely attached to it, I've considered cutting it but couldn't even imagine doing it yet, I'm not ready.
This. I just haven't been for a haircut in years and can't stomach the thought of getting one.
