Just out of curiosity what's your favorite?? FKS/Pivot, Salomon, Marker??

Looks are my favorite but chip
Attacks have my favorite step in
Sth2 are solid bindings overall
Marker has the best heel to step out of in my opinion

These are all kinda weird things but stuff I've noticed. I haven't had a lot of experience with all except Looks, but I've had them for long enough to notice the small things. I dandy base it on this, just small things that do impact my decision

look/rossi, with tyrolia a close second

I've never pre-released from my fks but when the snow sticks to my boot like its been doing with this shitty weather hiking rails with them kinda sucks

Yeahhh i deff shoulda put the attacks in there, my fault. What do you guys like most about other bindings compared to the fas/pivot??

easy step ins and paint doesn't chip like hell. Really thats just small and cosmetic.

For your bang for your buck I would go with the attack 13s they are a reliable, light overall good binding. The Sth2 13s are really good also. I was gonna get the fks 120s but they are just overall to much money hope this helps!

I'm really curious why you say that. Don't think I'm disagreeing with you but what aspect of the bindings have brought you to say that? I tend to lean towards pivots now because the rotating heel piece comforts me. I can say though that my jesters have never failed to release and always feel solid. I don't have much experience with the salomon bindings, but I always hear good things and I do like how low they seem to sit your boot.

I just like the solid feel of that maker heel. And i also like how the salomon bindings angles feel.

I love pivots, dont get me wrong, I just dont like stepping into them in deep snow, and i dont like the lax entry. When i step into a binding, i like it to be somewhat difficult, like a marker. For me personally, that is confidence inspiring..

This ^ For the price and bomb ass binding. Cant really beat it. I have been an FKS guy for 7 years, never wanted anything else until i rode a pair of atttacks.

From the results of the poll its about 50 percent fks/pivot. I am about to order some on3p kartel 98s and was just trying to think of what bindings to put on em for mostly all mountain use a little park here and there. Never skied Fks/pivots but have always wanted some. They seem bombproof and look like they would return the most feedback. The only reason I say that is they seem the most bare and wouldn't take much from the ski if that make sense. Right now I think the FKS is my choice but would love to hear any feedback from you guys before I make the purchase! Thanks

Tyrolia with the race toe. I will continue to search for all the pairs I can find before no one has any left to sell.

I own/owned tyrolia 15s, 18s (race toes on both) Jesters, jester pros, Dukes, FKS 18s, Sth 16s, and Sth 2 16. Back in the day the FKS was the king but these days I don't find much difference in performance. Now I just make my choice based in price and what I have lying around. My first in ranking are probably salomon (because of price), FKS (tried and true), then Jesters (Marker lower Din offerings are still sub par but when the Dukes came out they were awesome), and last are tyrolia (only reason is they are the only binding I have ever blown a knee on). I would love to try a pair of Aaatacks and guardians but haven't had the chance. Really just buy what is at a decent price and you can get in your din range.

FKS/Pivot in my opinion. The heel is very soft to step into and out with a high din compared to the griffon

Pivots/fks are great but I hate the lack of being able to easily swap brakes with how frequently I break them. And I do not trust the px series at all, currently getting rid of all of mine. Sth/sth2 are definitely my favorite, in the process of swapping all my skis to sth2 16's (instead of reusing bindings when I get new skis, buying new bindings until I have enough to keep reusing them and switch entirely to one system)

I had the Griffon Schizo. It kept sliding back, which kinda sucked. Then the heel piece broke away from the heel plate, which really sucked. I didn't think bindings really mattered much until I replaced them with the FKS 140. They felt so much more responsive than my markers and super solid. They are a little harder to get into but totally worth it.

im confused.. did you just say you are thinking about getting the bindings that you rode on when you tore your ACL?

I gotta say that I love Pivot 18s I just got a pair for free this year and I love them so much. The weight isnt much different than the 14s (I own 2 pairs) but I just feel so much more locked in for some reason.

I also have a pair of Tyrolia 18's (well Fischer 17's with race toepiece) and I am loving those although they are pre-releasing on me at odd times.. probably just need to be adjusted but I can't find any problems with them for the life of me.... maybe a messed up mount is the issue.

I have used Jesters and they are pretty solid. I am not a huge fan of griffons after seeing alot of people have serious issues with them.

Never used the new Salomons, but the old ones were tied for the most solid binding I have used with the Tyrolia's.

So, I will say:

1 pivot
2 Tyrolia
3 Salomon
4 Marker

Marker is last because I hate the stack height and how they ride. For me it is super noticeable when all I have used are bindings with really low stack heights. I got really fucked up on some rail tricks where I just dug my noses into the sides of the feature so yeah...

I've always been a huge fan of STH Drivers, got them on most of my skis. The ease of swapping out the brakes, the ease of adjusting to new boots etc.

I do also like Tryollias, I've had 12's and 15's but the forward pressure was always a bit touchy, but its easy to fix when you know it just needs cranked up more than others. Since then I've moved to peak 18's as I prefer the worm screw adjustment on heals for forward pressure.

Never used Piviots so I can't comment but I would like to try a set at some point.

Wasn't overly impressed with my markers, there not 'bad', its just I think the STH Drivers are far better than any offering marker have.

What was the mechanics behind your crash? If it was a rear-twisting fall(like a lot of ACL injuries) you would still have been hurt with a Pivot binding. The toe is the same on the Pivot 12/14 and the PX12.

I blew my ACL in a rear-twisting fall on 916s. I still ski 916s.

Good point... Sometimes its the crash/ skier that caused the injury, not the bindings...
