Replying to Full Tilt Descendant 8's 27.5
Here's the dealio. I tried the descendant 8's at SIA last year and I loved them, so I bought a pair. They're the most comfortable boot I've ever been in but I have quite a narrow foot and these are quite wide. They honestly feel better than my original shell full tilts, especially around my ankle, but after taking them to my boot fitter, I don't think they're going to work very well with my foot as the liners pack out. Making them work well would my foot would require a high volume liner and some other work so I'd rather just try another boot that fits better off the bat.
So I have a pair of this years brand new descendant 8's that have been skied exactly 3 days and were never heat molded.
The 8's are the top of the line descendants that retail at $600.
-8 flex tongue
-102mm last
-shock absorber boot board
-power wrap pro liner (the one you want)
The only problem is that one of the tongues managed to snap off when my boots fell out of my buddy's truck as we were pulling stuff out. This problem has been fixed using a small washer, bolt and T nut as seen in the pics. When I went to my boot fitter he said it was the fourth one he has seen this happen to and these boots have hardly been on the market for a month. Basically, the little piece that says "FT" that hold the tongue on is a cheap piece of metal that sheared off the tongue joint the second my boots hit the ground after using them only two days. I could have full tilt warranty it but they would just send me the same shitty piece of metal and personally I would rather have something on there that I know isn't going to break. I know it doesn't look great, but functionally its honestly an upgrade. I have an extra washer, bolt an nut for the other tongue that I will include and I can install it for you if you want so they match. You could also try and warranty the tongue yourself.
You won't find these boots anywhere for less than retail and used ones are gonna take awhile to come around.
