Do brands size different?

So I recently purchased icelantic da'nollies which are 170cm but when I put them next to my k2 domains which are 169 the da'nollies are about 4 inches shorter. I haven't been able to see them yet since i'm at school but does the tip and tail rise higher on the da'nollie. Can I trade them in for 180cm even after mounting?

i have some salomon dumonts from a couple years ago that are 170 and also have k2 domains that are 174 and there is a much bigger difference than 4cm between the two

K2 skis always run big for some reason, someone explained it to me a while ago but I don't remember

I wouldn't think you would be able to trade them in once they have been mounted. Doesn't hurt to give it a try though!

a pair of 169 K2 sight's, 171 Armada ar7's and 174 Line future spin's are all the same size

its because some brands measure length before pressing (makes them little shorter) and some other brands measure length after pressing (makes them tru to the size)

it's probably because they measure after the skis have been pressed.
Some companies just measure the length of the wood before it is pressed. Then when it is shaped, it will be a little shorter. If that makes sense?

I feel like this would be more "true to size" since they are the length they say they are haha. But I guess it doesn't work like that

Either way is accurate imo, it's like comparing circumferance (or half the circumferance) to diameter. But yeah I agree, I prefer K2's method.

The tip could be part of it, when it curves up it will b shorter than if it were flat

I had this problem with j skis a couple years ago. Bought 178's and they measured like 174.5.

Some brands measure nose to tail, and others measure the length of the surface that contacts the snow. It just depends on the brand

Park and powder skis from k2 used to run big but they changed this for powder skis in 2010 and park skis last year (I thought). They measure straight from tip to tail.
