I will always look up to him for being him, and not caring about what other people think. Not being ashamed of being different and swing his arms like a crazy person between jumps.
But if you think of it from the judges view, i think it will be hard to get good scores. They have their kind of way of thinking and want everything to look robotic. And Henriks skiing doesn't fit in to those frames. His clothes are almost to big to actually see what's going on under there. I don't mind and I think he should do him, but i think the judges have a hard time thinking outside the box and appreciate his style.
And if you ask me I think it has begun to be a bit over the top, but he is the one making money of his skiing, and i'm the one sitting in my couch, poor as hell. And once again, he should have cred for not falling in to those frames.
How does he take that last jump straight to the knuckle and not get hurt at all. Need to learn that so when I undershoot and tranny is nowhere in sight I can still come out with maximum steeze.
Apparently the conditions were shitty and he just had no interest in sending. Last time it was crappy weather and he threw down at a comp he fucked himself up pretty good. Henrik obviously doesn't need to win to prove anything so he just did what he was feeling and came away in one piece.
Comp skiing should just be who can do the most stylish run, then I'd actually watch it. Nobody cares about robo trick after robo trick... I want to see some flow and some style
That guy, hands down, has the most damn fun out there and gives the least amount of fucks and that's why he's so fucking awesome in my opinion.
The dude just went out there, skied how he wanted, did what he wanted. That gap to the down rail was hugeeee. He fucking sent it and had so much fun with it. Thats like everything you could ever hope to see in a slope run. Hell yeah Henny. Hell fucking yeah.

cool, keep watching edits then. this debate has gone beyond beating a dead horse. everyone out there competing full well understands the criteria for excelling in competing is executing the tricks with the highest degree of difficulty, the cleanest. If you want to watch laid out blunt 9's, there are hundreds of edits that have them. competitive slopestyle is a sport the same as gymnastics. executive the routine with the highest degree of difficulty without fault.

not really, but the function of competition is fairly straightforward. I don't understand how people on this forum haven't come to terms with that yet. the cleanest, most technically difficult run wins. it's fairly simple. If you want to watch style and that is your only goal, there are many avenues to do that outside of competition.

right. coming from the pipsqueak 15yr old from New Hampshire.
You want to have an intelligent discussion about the role of "style" (an ambiguous term, I might add) in freeskiing competition, be my guest. You want to act like a little shit-sniffer, then gtfo off this forum with the 100 garbage threads you've made in your 6 months here.

16* actually, I was just looking to have some good humor and thought you might like to laugh. However, I do admire the research you have put in to "insult" me. So I suggest loosen up a bit, this website is all meant in good fun and helping people so if you want to actually get upset and cry, "be my guest." (Whit) Used Intext citations and everything is that, "intelligent" enough for you. Chill out man.

you didn't say anything humorous, nor intelligent. I've been a member of this forum since you were still shitting in your skivvies, so spare me the speech on what this website is meant to be. I'm plenty chill, but it's your generation of kids that have turned SG, NSG, & Gear Talk into a fucking joke. If i see one more "E-Dollo or B-Dog??" ski thread, I may shit down my leg.

I have knuckled jump 4 in freeway multiple times and it ends my day of skiing without fail. That's a 70 foot deck and Harlaut just casually reverts out of it.

However on a real note part of me is not sure wheather henrick over steezed it just to poke fun at slope style competitions and how crazy skiing has gotten recently, or weather he was actually being serious because let's be honest here, we all know damn well that henrick is from another planet and can throw difficult tricks whilst making them look great, not saying he didn't but I feel he could've done more if he actually cared. My other theory is that since he sort of messed up the first rail on the landing a bit he just sort of had fun the rest of the run rather then actually like trying I guess one could say, who knows but I still love henrick and its just a competition so oh well.
BenWhitHe didn't express any opinion by saying "must be nick geopper". That isn't a well thought out opinion.
I wasnt talking about that phil. I was talking about the thing he said before, about how he wants to see more style in slopestyle instead of just all "robo" tricks. You are being a nick geopper tho

I don't know how I'm "being a nick geopper." I never said what I felt was stylish. "Style" is a subjective term. One skier might think a laid out blunt seven is stylish, whereas another skier might think a stomped dub rodeo 10 Japan is stylish. Some skiers might think both are stylish. The fact of the matter is that a dub 10 is a more technical trick than a switch seven, so when both are executed perfectly, the dub 10 wins out. That is the function of competition. This is a debate that has been raging on for years on this site, and you are all in the losing end of it. Technical tricks win out 8 times out of 10. It you want to see more stylish trick, you'll need to have rules similar to snowboard super pipe in the Olympics requiring a straight air. Force all skiers to stop throwing dubs on every jump. If you don't, the 2 out of the entire field of skiers in a competition that aren't doing more technical tricks will place badly. That, and place more emphasis on rails.
JLevHe's obviously an alien with triple jointed knees so he never falls and can absorb knuckling huge jumps
The ride away from that rail made me gasp. Knees tho
