This place that I've been working at along Lake Michigan is surrounded by dunes and extremely high elevations along the shoreline. I have been working here for over a month renovating a lakefront cottage. Every day when driving through these hills I think to myself " damn this place would make an awesome ski resort!". I even look for little chutes down the dunes and hills picturing awesome lines.
For no reason whatsoever I pulled up my Google maps yesterday and it said that I was standing on carousel Mountain ski resort. I was like what the hell is going on here!
After doing a little bit of research last night, it turns out the place used to be a ski resort… And the property was sold in the 70s to a developer who turned it into a lakefront subdivision.
Simply amazing!!! Yet, such a shame!
