Bluetooth Speaker Recomendations For Skiing?

So I finally joined this century and got a smartphone. Anyway, wanted some recs for getting a bluetooth speaker for the hill. Something with decent battery life, won't break, and I could hear while riding would be cool.

I guess it doesn't matter, but I figured I would ask if there are any that are awesome, and any horrible ones to avoid.

i have that inspired one. i think it's a boom box or something like that. It's decent for how cheap it was.

Not a speaker but I have JayBird Bluebuds X Bluetooth headphones and they have a 8 hour battery and sound amazing.

I have the Altec Lansing LifeJacket. Its dust proof, shock proof, fully waterproof (It can be fully submerged, not just water resistant), and it floats. Its pretty bad ass and can with stand some serious shit!

Also the fact that you can throw it in the pool/hot tub with you, or take it rafting and shit is awesome!

I won a big turtle shell /claim. But this thing is awesome. Super durable and waterproof. The handles are cool so you can strap it to a backpack. The only thing is the big turtle shell might be an overkill just for skiing, and kinda heavy

UE Booms are alright, a little overpriced and not hugely loud, but is water resistant and has a pretty decent sound quality, also pretty small, durable and compact if you get the small one.

Ive owned/used a lot of these. the skullcandy air raid is the loudest ive used (more so than any bose/nixon/JVC of similar size) while still being pretty portable, but it is heavy and up there in $$$. i recommend this guy, its cheap, durable (had it for two years, been dropped tons and rained on, still works fine), small, and still pretty loud

Honestly just use headphones. I feel like a lot of people don't like it when people play their music out loud but you do you.

Screw em. I don't mind unless it's incredibly rude or obnoxious.

Go for an Outdoor Tech Buckshot or Buckshot Pro. Those little cylinders do the trick.
Or get a Turtleshell, and just throw it in your goggle pocket of your pack.

nah burton motorola. it was like an 800 dollar coat in 05 06 but I found one for 250. had a sdisplay screen for the songs and your phone in tbe sleeve and other stuff. super big pimpin.

True on that Bose, not incredibly durable but if It's in your bag or whatever and sheltered from the snow than yea go for it. Sounds incredible.

i fuckin hate people with speakers on the hill. same goes for music in the park, if i want to listen to music, i will listen to my own music. especially when its a 128k mp3 being played through a phone onto cheap speakers with the volume maxed out. all of those portable speakers sound terrible.

I don't feel that way at all. I've tried multiple pairs of their quiet comfort headphones and Bluetooth speakers and have loved all of them. Honestly the color soundlink is extremely well priced at around $100, has a nice full sound on highs, mids, bass. I find no flaws. Even have dropped mine a few times and been left out in the rain for 20 minutes with no problems. But to each their own I guess.

you clearly know nothing about quality headphones and speakers then. and thats why they sell so many, because the average consumer doesnt know shit.

You sound like you really know how to party. You probably would have been everyones favorite guy on the hill when mtns used to have speakers hanging over the pipes and parks a t a lot of places/

I don't always ski, but when I do it's only in my studio at home because if the audio isn't perfect I can't even enjoy it.

All these edits with music are just horrible! It's not even made using my favorite song!

This so much. Get the Buckshot Pro. I got one this summer and it's great. Used it up north wildfire fighting, and it's pretty tough. The light it comes with makes a perfect lantern/flash light, and it also charges your phone.

The only downside is that it isn't the loudest, and it is directional. The plus side it is tough as fuck. Literally just keeps going.

It gets annoying when people are playing crunchy dubstep, or godawful rap etc on the lift ride up.

Try to be socially aware and make everyone's day better... Or at least not worse.

Honestly it's the same as with a phone in general. The people who are listening to shitty music in the airport terminal on full volume where you have to ask them to not be a fuck and turn it down or put in headphones.

Some people grasp this concept, some people don't.


I'm pretty damn mindful of this, I just want something when I'm working and for the ride down, or chillin in the shack. If I'm going to be building something for a bit it'd be nice to just set the thing down on a rail nearby or clip it on and build away with some tunes.

Also not much for dubstep or shitty rap. Closet I get is dub/reggae stuff and classic 90s hip hop.
