jmellberg800My friend looked down today on the lift and said that my moment vices were delamming. I took them off at the top and looked at them. To me they almost look like a gash you would get on your sidewall but on the tip i would imagine i could just cut that off and fill it with epoxy. Any other ways you guys can think of fixing them? You guys think its a gash or are they delamming? Any one else have this problem with their skis?
iggyskierIt's just an impact related gash, not a delam or anything. Nice thing with a 3/4 edge wrap, it is very easy to fix.
Trim it with a razor blade (UHMW deforms a bit when it is hit, so it can be hard to get it back to shape, so no reason to try and re-lam a deformed piece). Don't remove anything you don't need to.
Ensure the layers where it has been impacted as still solid and bonded.
Make sure it is dry.
Cover with a good 2-part epoxy (I recommend West Systems G-Flex).
Let sit for 24 hours.
Clean up, ski on. It shouldn't have any effect on performance besides being a bit ugly.

cjt121099Is there anyway to fix loose bidnings safely without going into the shop because they are the ones that messed them up in the first place.
freeskibum82thats a vague description. do you mean you are releasing out of them or the actual screws of the bindings are loose. if they messed them up they should at no charge fix it for them. just explain nicely whats going on and they should take care of you. i know i would
cjt121099the screws are loose, the guy was telling me he works the shop just for the free pass. I am a broke teen, is it safe for me to tighten them myself? The guy was an idiot he didnt even adjust the forward pressure.
